My childhood house [in which Dad still lives] is a timber-framed fibro-clad job that M&D had a local builder build, in the late 50s. Over the ensuing decades they did various extensions [out & up], & various incidental maintenance stuff, all of which involved handling & cutting fibro. I often wonder if/how we avoided that landmine… 🤷♀️
