They make excellent electronics parts bins, too.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Earbud question: Does anyone actually like to silicone tipped earbuds over the solid plastic ones?
2·11 days agoThank you for asking this, you just reminded me of an adjacent question I have.
As for silicone ones vs. plastic: I can never get the plastic ones to stay in, and they also have just about 0 bass since they don’t seal, so in that sense I prefer silicone ones.
However I don’t get how people can do any movement with them in and not get annoyed by the very loud rumbling noise they make since they seal up the ears. Walking, and even touching the wires… any slight movement of the earbuds against the ear is very loud.
My ideal solution are not fully sealing silicone buds so they stay in but don’t do that very loud rumbling. Unfortunately that’s nigh impossible to get.
Anyone else have trouble with that?

Oh yeah, diagnosing and fixing electronics is really easy (and fun) for me, and I do it as a day job. I lag behind “easy” adult tasks all the time though, like making appointments, following them, etc. And/or I do them with great anxiety. I don’t feel apt to be an adult in our society…
I have 2700k spots at my work desk’s soldering station, I honestly couldn’t tell you why but I prefer it. Maybe because I’ve always had warm lighting when soldering. Makes me wanna get neutral or cold spots and try that for a change.
For me the bigger issue is light intensity, I swear the old lighting setup at that work desk was as bright as a grave light… dunno how anyone could use that.
My cat wants to smell my morning coffee every time. She smells the milk, and even though she should know there’s disgusting burnt bean juice in it too she insists on checking it out anyway.
Firefox for Android still defaults to this. I don’t understand.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What items do you have multiple of even though one would suffice?

It’s just so useful to just have another one to grab when the one you’re using runs out, and let that one charge in the meanwhile. I can also just take two in my bag and never run dry.
A puzzle game where each (2D) map spawns with lasers and corresponding targets, and sometimes mirrors etc. You get to place some mirrors, T pieces, beam splitters etc. and have to fulfill each target.
There are so many clones of this out now it’s nigh impossible to find, especially as the game is literally just called Laser. This one’s also a clone I think but I just love this particular one.
I did recently finally find it again after more than a decade of looking.

No ublock for when you walk around outside and get assaulted by ads though…
In German it’s also Wespe, but in my local Austrian dialect it’s pronounced Wepsn. Very interesting, I didn’t know that shift had happened (or I guess not happened) elsewhere.
So I scrolled by this for about the 6th time now and I can finally see where the two legs are separate. Is my brain broken?
I thought from the beginning that this was a real picture since everything but the knees looks sane. Sso I’m wondering even more how those fused knees happened here. Bad compression or something…?
okay so what the hell is going on with those legs

I work in electronics repair, but occasionally I also have to deal with related calls (and emails). As much as I hate phone calls I’m glad I can offer the customers of the small firm I work at an actual person to speak to and actually solve their problems as opposed to this kind of slop machinery or even outsourced callcenters.
