Climate - truthful information about climate, related activism and politics.@slrpnk.net•How the little-known ‘dark roof’ lobby may be making US cities hotter10·7 months agoI don’t get why there’s a dark roof lobby. I would think they would make a range of light and dark coloured roof. It’s not an exclusive product.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Roommate refuses to use my body wash cause it's not "manly"English

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•I'm a 6'1" man with size 3 feet which means every time they measure my feet at a shoe store, the Brannock device tells me I'm not a man English

4·8 months agoWhat’s shoe shopping like? I have a friend with size 6 or 7 feet and he says he often find cheaper shoes because he gets away with buying kids versions of sneakers. On the other hand I’ve got wide feet so my options are often limited.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•The use of lunar calendar might be the reason why days start at midnight.
2·8 months agoHuh full moons could coincide at any time of the day, and depends on where on earth you are when it happens

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Lemmy has the ideal number of posts for me. Just enough to have a good time but not too many that I'm scrolling forever
1·8 months agoGuess that’s enough internet for me today
I can’t tell if this is AI or not. Was leaning towards maybe not.
In a professional setting, it’s been a normalised acknowledgement, but socially I try to avoid it. Depending on the generation it can be taken the wrong way.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•DAE feel like DuckDuckGo is now just as good as google for the vast majority of searches?
2·9 months agoGoogle is almost unusable for me even with ad block. I’ve been using DDG for the last 3 or so years now.
I’m still angry at some seppos over the UGG branding

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's something that's seen as Obsolete, but isn't?
2·9 months agoThis is what annoys me too. Freight is so crucial and it still moves plenty of people in many countries both in the north and global south. I guess they will think of steam era trains.
