Lemmy@lemmy.ml•I used to browse lemmy and then browse reddit and post interesting stuff hereEnglish
5·3 years agoSince the API announcement, I’ve made a big effort not to open Reddit. It’s working so far. Found Lemmy…but more importantly actually took Mastodon seriously. With the Ivory app, goodness, I’m loving it! So many helpful and knowledgeable people.
I’ve been following tags on topics I’m interested in, and just really digging the community.
Which formula1 community did you join? I’d like to join.

Technology@lemmy.ml•👋 Have you stopped using Google much because of ChatGPT/Bing ?👀
1·3 years agoDepends. If I want to find something local, like a new eatery or hotel (something based on location), I use Google.
If I want the definition of something or need something explained, I use ChatGPT. I also use ChatGPT daily to help me write emails.
I’m trying to leave. I desperately need a better Lemmy iOS app to make it happen.
Does Nickelodeon E-Collectibles count?
Kraft Macaroni and Cheese mixed with Ground beef. Not healthy, but very delicious.

Lemmy@lemmy.ml•Which subreddits would you most like to see on Lemmy?English
6·3 years agoI’d like to see PS5, NintendoSwitch and ITManagers communities. I would start them, but do not have the time to moderate. :/

Open Source@lemmy.ml•Asking third-party reddit app devs to consider Lemmy after recent Reddit API changes.
4·3 years agoI’ve been using iOS app Ivory for Mastodon, and it’s FANTASTIC. Little did I know, they also make my favorite calculator app, Calcbot.
I would love it if they swooped in and developed for Lemmy.
Cheers! Lemmy has been awesome so far! I just need Mlem to be developed more, or have some other iOS developer come in.
On Desktop, it seems Lemmy is at its best right now.

Technology@lemmy.ml•What is your favourite 3rd party Lemmy client?English
8·3 years agoMlem has potential.
A lot of work to be done. Crashes often, upvote button doesn’t always work for me, my favorited communities don’t stick at the top, no alerts, and not sure how to check my last comments or posts.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Created duplicate accounts on two Lemmy serversEnglish
2·3 years agoTo me, it seems obvious to create an account on the “largest most general” server, as they are likely to not be blocked.
What are the pros and cons of creating your account on lemmy.ml for example?
The risk I see with creating my main account on a smaller server is the potential for the smaller server to go away if the creator decides to stop hosting. Right?

Patient Gamers@lemmy.ml•I never was on the subreddit, what is this community about?English
3·3 years agoThe sidebar to this community sums it up pretty well. “ A gaming sub free from the hype and oversaturation of current releases, catering to gamers who wait at least 12 months after release to play a game. Whether it’s price, waiting for bugs/issues to be patched, DLC to be released, don’t meet the system requirements, or just haven’t had the time to keep up with the latest releases.”
Good luck! Mastodon has been a dream community for me. I haven’t yet made any persistent friends, but engaging with people’s toots has been awesome.
