16·2 years agoIn more populated areas it makes sense since Brand customers have prioritized traffic over MVNOs. So if you want any service at all, then…

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why isn't there an end-to-end encryption standard for email so that we can get rid of fax machines?
30·2 years ago“Harder to intercept” as in you have to go outside where the grass is to play around with the telephone wires, as opposed to typey-typey in your mom’s basement. Ain’t nobody got time for that

66·2 years agoLol no, faxes do not have encryption. However, they are transferred over old school phone lines, which are not exposed to the internet, therefore making them harder to intercept. Also, federal wire tap laws are pretty beefy so risk in doing so is higher. That’s pretty much it though

Linux@lemmy.ml•What modern (gaming) laptops should be avoided for proprietary firmware or whitelists/gate keeping? Also posted Linux GPU telemetry data from Stable Diffusion
4·2 years agoAvoid Acer / Predator. They have screwy BIOS with non standard EFI that really messes with GRUB. Nightmare for secure boot and disk encryption if you care about that (you should)

Looks like Giordanos, which is fine, but I generally don’t recommend since it’s very saucy and the crust is bleh. Try Lou Malnati’s next time — it’s far superior
