Politics@beehaw.org•Web extension "Shinigami Eyes" is banned in Norway for GDPR violation
5·11 months agoI’ve been using Shinigami Eyes for years and it’s helped me avoid a lot of content which could’ve messed up my algorithm or tricked me when I was younger and more susceptible to anti-trans propaganda. I do sometimes question what was marked as pro- or anti-trans; would I agree with that assessment? But I’m not trans, and there is a litany of content online; I do not have to give my time or attention to anyone who is marked anti-trans.

This story is totally fake. We created it to draw your attention to Open Ulysses, a project turning every word of James Joyce’s Ulysses into clickable links, building a crazy portrait of the internet itself. Come add your link and leave your mark on digital history!
This is an absolutely incredible overreach. What’s next, reviews on Goodreads? Fan forums discussing the latest episode of their favorite show? Articles talking about why a property should be handled carefully due to its content? Wikipedia? All of these places make money somehow just to operate, primarily through ad placement like this person’s website. Where is the line?
