I don’t agree that it’s victim blaming. We are all responsible for our own health. We need to do more than just listen to what a few people on television say. Everyone should do their work and if they don’t, they need to accept some responsibility.

I don’t blame Oprah for Jenny because they aren’t pretending she’s a Doctor as they promote her crack pot ideas. I’m smart enough to not take my medical advice from former Playmates. I can’t help it if the unintelligent masses do.

Looking at the caricatures, I am confident that the male drawing is more accurate to what you will find on a nude beach.
Maybe the point is that humans are not actively planning, communicating, and altering our environment in a positive way to be able to handle the population increase.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is there any evidence that Reddit has suffered at all from the exodus to Lemmy?
51·2 years agoOnly evidence I have is:
any day of week 1 of using Lemmy I had about 1 page of new stories on my subscribed communities any day of week 2 of using Lemmy I had about 2 pages of new stories on my communities any day of week 3 (this week) I’m at least 4 pages in and still haven’t hit on the old stories

2·2 years agoSome of us VCR clock-setters are on Lemmy already due to the combination of us loving playing with tech and the attitude of “fuck you I won’t do what you tell me”. I’ve seen the fall of the original BBSs, Prodigy, Compuserve, AOL, Geocities, MySpace, Yahoo, Digg, Facebook, and here I sit watching Reddit’s behavior with a bag of popcorn. If they don’t backpedal, they’ll get their IPO, Spez will get his money, and the shell of what Reddit was will continue to exist like MySpace and Facebook. It will strive to stay relevant while slowly becoming more and more irrelevant over time as the newcomer gains steam. Will Lemmy be that newcomer taking over? I’m not sure but it sure is fun to watch the world burn sometimes.

Explain Like I'm Five@lemmy.world•Why is it so hard to find the lost Titanic tourism submarine?English
0·2 years agoThere has to be a solution that would have allowed them to send a buoy up to transmit a mayday and coordinates like some life boats do. This would help the rescue teams to narrow the search grid. I wouldn’t have gone down in that thing, but if I WAS, I would at least feel better with something like that.

If by decent you mean “person” then dammit he’s been one of the greatest presidents/people. If you mean politically, I don’t think he was meant for that game. I think you need a certain level of narcissism and desire to F over regular people for the benefit of the elites. He was lacking that. What he DID do, that no one can take away from his accomplishments, is he legalized home brewing which is why American beer is now good and not crap like it was before. These home brewers became the microbrewers, which is why we have what we have now. That God for Jimmy Carter.
