Dungeons and Dragons@lemmy.world•DndBeyond will now use "5.5e" as version label
5·15 days agoNitpicky, but 2 out of 3 core rulebooks of the 2024 version were released in 2024, not just one.
Using year labeling of your product is generally a bad idea, imho, because it makes it appear outdated really quick.

Dungeons and Dragons@lemmy.world•How it feels to come back to Dungeons and Dragons after 20 years.
6·2 months agoI played in a university gaming club from 1984-1989. Then nothing, but it kept popping up in my life. I just had nobody to play with anymore. Then 2016 arrived, and I did some internet searching. I found (after some false starts) a group, that I still play with every Thursday night.
Yes, for me it also feels like home.
I hope your—and mine—d&d journey keeps on giving!

This is like one of our cats
Our other cat is much better at communication – she calls for attention, then guides us to the place where she wants us to do something (open a door, fill the food cups, or give scratches)

Good question. So, perform an experiment: put an ice cube without air bubbles in a glass containing a mixture of ice and cold water. The temperature should become 0°C (just before it freezes), measure it.
Your hypothesis: ice is heavier than water, so it will sink
Execute the test several times, preferably 10 times or more. More is better.
Please share your experiment results. Interesting data to know for each test would include:
- sequence number of the test
- temperature of the mixture before and after you put the ice cube in
- method of ice cube creation
- volume of the ice cube
- volume of water/ice mixture
- depth of the water/ice mixture (should be > size of the ice cube)
- type of water used (tap, bottled, …)
- did the ice cube sink
- if no, what volume of the cube remained above the surface level
please also share your conclusion.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•People who live in the Netherlands, how is it there?
13·2 months agoMost of us Dutchies are more or less fluent in English (over 90% of the population), and yes, many will switch to English quickly, even if you start the conversation in Dutch but are not a native speaker.
German and Dutch are closely related, but most Dutch people are not fluent in German — speaking German here is usually limited to “hallo, wie geht’s?” and ordering meals or drinks.
The Netherlands is generally very LGBTQ positive, but exceptions exist.
Immigration depends on where you’re from and if you have a job here. Visiting as a tourist is easy if you are already living in Germany - just remember to bring your passport (often it’s not checked, but there are exceptions). We love friendly tourists!

Why is this a Dutch helicopter?
The registration does not start with PH (seems like a B or G ? Can’t see it properly) and I think it’s an Alouette III, which is made in France.
Also, Yoko Tsuno is a Belgian series.
