I’m so happy for you!! I can say that like. Even over a decade in to transition I still love being a woman. Ive talked to trans women who say that it faded for them with time but I think that just never really happened with me. I get gender euphoria all the time and it feels so awesome getting to be a girl. I know how amazing that feeling is and how much it saved my own life. I’m glad that you get to experience it too :)

Thanks for the resources! I actually think I will link to this list in the transfem sidebar.
I think this calculator might be useful here.
Take all the oral versus rectal route stuff with a grain of salt. The studies thus far have been mostly done on cis women and were measuring blood levels directly, not results. The way that progesterone interacts with stuff like breast development is not super well understood either, nor are the levels at which good development can be expected. I read a study fairly recently that suggested that there was not a large difference in satisfaction rates for patients taking it orally versus rectally, both reported positive side effects. Empirically it is hard to accurately measure things like this.
I have tanner stage 5 breasts, and developed them to that stage before taking progesterone. My friend who takes hers rectally, and has for a couple years now, has tanner stage 4 breasts. Its anecdotal but I think is a good example of progesterone being less well understood.
I love that top!! Looks super cute on you. Also a huge fan of your phone case haha. You’re really pretty, hope you’re having a lovely day :)
I would take them both at night. I’m not sure how much of a difference itll make though. Thats just how ive always taken it.
Congratulations 😊 I got mine done earlier this year and was very hyped about it haha. Its a bit more of an involved process where I’m from, it took me over a decade to get it done lol

Transfem•I posted this in the wrong community last night because I was falling asleep 😂English
6·2 months agoAbsolutely. My entire friend group changed. I dont really like traditional masculinity and never did before I transitioned either, but I tried very hard to. After transitioning i had decided to stop living for other people and live for myself. So I made friends who I actually liked and relate to. I made friends who encouraged and supported me.
I wonder to what extent placebo would exist here.
And yet you are responding to it seriously.

Transfem•re: doubleposting selfies on both /c/mtf and /c/trans_joyEnglish
23·2 months agoThis community has always allowed image content. I’ve never really considered changing that. I’m curious what folks have to say about it.
When I first made this community I made it because I frequently browsed r/mtf and could not find a community on Lemmy that really fit with that.
I feel really that this community has diverged in some important ways from that subreddit though, and one of those has been allowing images to be posted here. I didnt want this to be a text post only community because I felt that it was good for transfem and questioning folks to have a place to share anything they wanted to. Most of the rules revolve around this principle of protecting a safe space for transfem/questioning people. Some kinds of images are banned. But I hadn’t considered banning selfies in particular.
Tbh I’m not a fan of how youve chosen to word this. It comes across as weirdly antagonistic towards other folks here.
I also think that language is important and what’s being left out here is the context behind why other people are shutting you down. Patriarchy fucks with all our lives and the oppression of women as an assigned class to the advantage of men as an assigned class is real and worth discussing. But I think that how we talk about that does matter. And I can see how language could quickly devolve this subject away from the central point of class solidarity and liberation.
Trans women have as varied opinions as any class of people. Studies consistently show that trans people as a whole are strongly left leaning and pro minority rights. Not to say that misogyny doesnt exist in trans communities but it is not uniquely common in trans communities.
Please remove the link to that subreddit. That community violates the rules about not reposting bigoted content.
Who are you having your surgery done with? I’m hopeful to get gendered correctly on the phone at least once in my life time lmao
Ouuuu I haven’t tried this brand before. Exfoliation day is always my favorite haha

HRT effects take place over a very long period of time. Give yourself a chance. I know that you want to go from point A to point E but you have to give yourself time to get there.
Nurture yourself. Work on your mental health, take good care of yourself physically. Like you will get the best results of HRT if you are in the best place otherwise to receive them. Its unfortunately not something you can rush. You must gradually work towards it. If passing really really matters to you then work on your mannerisms, voice train, practice with makeup, develop your fashion sensibilities and invest time in your presentation. All those things take time to develop too, and its also totally valid to not bother with any of it. I am a very conventionally feminine woman and those things have mattered to me so I have worked a lot on them. It all takes time.
And to echo statements in other comments, you’re never too late to transition. You look really pretty and you will absolutely have great results with time. Try your best to be patient with yourself.
