  • Your regret is valid and understandable. We all make choices in life that we can come to regret. I am very sorry that you find yourself in the unfortunate situation of wishing you could undo something that cannot be undone.

You are welcome to discuss this here but some of the language you use is extremely triggering and highly correlated with bigoted narratives about bottom surgery. Such as describing yourself as broken, describing your genitalia as rotting, etc. I normally allow a certain amount of this but frankly this thread was very intense and even just reading through it all to understand what was going on was quite hard. Some content warnings and perhaps a bit of consideration for other users would go a long way.

I’m sorry you’ve had bad experiences in other communities treating you like your regret isn’t real. Your suffering is real and you have every right to talk about it here with others. A lot of gatekeeping has gone on in this thread and I am working through it now to address it.

If anyone finds their comment has been removed by me I would encourage you to read the rules and understand that this is an inclusive community of all transfeminine people. Even if you suspect that someone is lying or misrepresenting themselves or their experiences, it is still not permissible to interrogate them in such a manner. You can always DM me or Ada if you suspect someone of showing up to cause trouble. But creating public threads to speculate on whether someone is a troll or not is just categorically unacceptable here. We have few reliable ways of emperically verifying those things out in the open. So its pointless and just promotes a hostile atmosphere of interrogation and gatekeeping.

I’m going to leave this thread locked for a bit while things die down.

  • Do you normally celebrate when a cisgender woman tells you she has something wrong with her body such that she doesn’t get periods anymore? Oh, so sorry to hear you’re struggling with this condition, but thank god you dont get periods right?

Nah, you wouldnt. And if you would then maybe youre just a very insensitive person. Periods suck no doubt and yet when women dont get them, barring being pregnant, its often a sign that something is wrong. Irregularities aside, cause having them on a monthly schedule is far from universal.

Many transfeminine people experience intense dysphoria over their inability of conceiving and delivering children. Its a debilitating life long struggle that we each find our own peace with. Periods are a routine part of having a reproductive system that is capable of conceiving and delivering children. They are controlled/influenced by balances of hormones in the body. Many transfeminine people take feminizing hormones, the same ones that influence the menstrual cycle. Some transfeminine people report experiencing similar symptoms, especially often when taking hormones via injection which introduces a hormonal cycle.

I didnt get a chance to read your previous comment before it was deleted but I can surmise what you said. This is a space for transfeminine people first and I will absolutely not tolerate the gatekeeping of our experiences in this manner. Please read all the rules in the side bar. Be mindful of what you’re saying and keep an open mind.

I mean, yeah. It goes far beyond just Britain and France though. They want you to forget about the military dictatorships they upheld in Spain and South Korea too. They also want you to forget that the fascist Empire of Japan killed far more people during world war 2 than any other nation, and by most counts actually killed more people by themselves than was killed in the European theater entirely. They slaughtered entire nations.

And then you can talk about the American actions that ended the pacific war. The atrocities committed by both America and Japan on occupied nations. It’s a mess. Both of those states committed a littany of horrific acts of violence on millions of people. There is no good side or bad side. Only the side that surrendered.

History is this way for the most part. It’s deeply unsatisfying. But the lie was that there are any good wars to begin with. We only regard the holocaust as so unique because of the incidental details of how it was carried out. The rounding up, the trains, the gas chambers, the whole industry of it. But it was not all that unique an event in truth. In the late 19th and early 20th century the Armenian genocide came about in a similar manner and functioned in a similar way. There are many similarities in genocide. The holocaust exists as an archetypal series of events mostly because it was documented by the modern super powers of the world. We remember it because they want us to. They dont want us to remember the Nakba or the atrocities carried out by the military dictatorships they upheld across the world.

Just chiming in as a mod to let you know that you are welcome in the community. If transfeminine is a term that you feel associated with or that bears meaning for you then you are welcome here. :) no matter what gender you were assigned at birth.

That being said, I worry a lot about some of the language youre using for yourself here and throughout this thread. Do you feel like you get the chance to engage in femininity much? Do you feel a connection to your own womanhood? How often do you feel like you get to nurture that connection, like engage in activities that make you feel feminine in a positive way? Hormones are absolutely a crucial part of the equation, but self care is a huge part as well. It’s often neglected.

I also will point you away from terms like “natural woman”. Not because I dont understand what youre trying to say, but to reinforce that being a woman isn’t predicated on having a certain body or appearing a certain way or even having certain hormones. Its also extremely concerning and gross that your father would make comments about you that way, whatever his intentions with them may be. I’m sorry you experienced that.

Youll find a lot of folks here who understand what its like to compare themselves to other women around them and feel inadequate and outcasts. You’re in a good place.

I had a nice long response typed up, but I genuinely do not have the energy to pick through what a thoroughly ridiculous comment this is. You’re not actually here to have a meaningful conversation on this subject either, you are only here to propagandize for capitalists. So I’ll save myself the time and energy.

I do not live in the USA. Housing is a human right and should be free everywhere. It should not be a market. No one should have to pay anything for housing. You have been fed a lifetime of propaganda to make you believe this is fair. It is not. It is one of the major things that contributes to lifelong stress and shortens lifespans. It is one of the major things that keeps people in poverty, having to pay half their income in rent that they never get back.

Housing is a human right. We already have gigantic amounts of housing that sits empty, new building projects are not the priority.

The government should be in charge of constructing new housing developments to meet the needs of the community. People can also pool resources together to build those things, in the absence of rent and mortgages people would have substantially higher incomes. Over time this would balance out, but would still be doable in the long term.

No one should be homeless. Even if you are able bodied and refuse to work. The amount of people who are able bodied and refuse to work is microscopic. You have been misled by conservative propaganda to believe that welfare recipients are lazy. Welfare recipients are people who for one reason or another are unable to work. This is almost exclusively people with disabilities.

But yes, I think even if you decide to do literally nothing just cause you dont want to, you should still have shelter. Shelter is a human right; housing is a human right. It is a crime against humanity to deny people housing. And if youre that contrarian, to literally be like har har I wanna make a point about how dumb free housing is so ill do literally nothing, you probably have some problems you should sort through in therapy.

This comment illustrates very clearly that you are not a renter 😊 we do not have a choice! I cant just decide whether or not to own my own shelter. I am literally not given the choice. That is not how the system is designed. If youre disabled, youre screwed. If you cant afford a higher education, youre screwed. If you have debts, mental health issues, if youre a minority, youre absolutely screwed. You will rent for the rest of your life and it will almost entirely be spent paycheck to paycheck, certainly nowhere even close to daydreaming about owning any kind of home.

All the benefits youre ascribing to renting count for just owning the apartment or condo you live in. Bam. Done. Couldn’t give less of a fuck about grass. I can barely afford food! Think about how insane it is for you to complain about having to cut the grass when renters have to pick between fucking eating and having a place to sleep. Youre not a leftist, youre a bog standard liberal.

You are not a landlord if you are sharing your home, you would be a roommate. If you are charging them rent, then yes you are a landlord :) no should ever profit off of housing! Housing is a human right! No one should ever have to sleep in your home, everyone should be able to have their own shelter that belongs to them! This is an absolutely conceivable reality homelessness is entirely a manufactured byproduct of capitalism. We have millions of empty homes and wasted infrastructure that could be used to house people.
