As I know, Pixel 8 gets 7 years of updates, and they are mid, but for what you need, it wouldn’t be a bad choice.

Technology@lemmy.ml•DuckDuckGo is growing thanks to Google users frustrated by AI featuresEnglish
1·28 days agoI think people just don’t want every search to have AI included, it’s too much for some. Even though it’s useful sometimes, they are forcing it for almost every query, which is too much.

Technology@lemmy.ml•Microsoft reports are exposing AI's real cost problem: Using the tech is more expensive than paying human employeesEnglish
2·28 days agoAt least they’re being transparent about it. AI agent workflows can burn through far more tokens if they are used every day, so, normally, employees are still more affordable.
Thank you all so much, noting these down to check and compare to the one we’re eyeing

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How do you time manage and prioritize your work and projects?English
4·11 months agoAsana at work; it’s great, and you can easily go back and check what you did and when. And in my personal life, pen and paper. I don’t see this changing anytime soon.

[Migrated, see pinned post] Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•Has anyone been to/had a wedding at Villa di Rocca (LA County)?English
6·1 year agoSorry, I can’t really help you, I just wanted to say congratulations! The place looks really cool. It’s a very specific question, so perhaps there are some weddings/California-related communities where more people could pitch in. I mean, of course, it doesn’t hurt to ask, you never know. Either way, cheers and congratulations one more time! 🥂

[Migrated, see pinned post] Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•How do we consume less content and be more social/productive in a way that isn't concerned with profit?English
1·1 year agoWe consume less by doing more. Say, we watch less YouTube about what we want to do and start doing more of what it is we want to do.
This. Exactly this. I mean, it seems so easy, but I can’t say it actually is. Are we really so unmotivated to start doing more? I should speak for myself, so am I really so unmotivated or whatever that this is so difficult for me?
Thank you for sharing this list, it’s awesome! I see a couple of good options for me.
It was bound to happen. When the pressure became too great, it backfired and had the opposite effect. I mean, I call it pressure, but of course, you can always refuse to tip. I read last year about how tipping culture in America changed. The question “Does everything require a tip?” kept popping up, and I really think all that led to where we are now.

2·1 year agoI had no idea either. And I like to think I read as often as I have a chance.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Thinking of immigrating to Italy - am I insane?English
6·1 year agoLearn the language as soon as possible, at least basic level. Bureaucracy is going to be hell, there’s no nicer way to put it. But I think you’ll enjoy living in Italy. You are not happy where you are now, so it’s great you’re doing something about it. Best of luck!

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How do you get over the fact that not everyone will like you?English
2·2 years agoWish I could help with the strategy. I don’t deal with this in any way, I genuinely don’t care if someone likes me or not. I actually don’t think about it. I understand this can be a problem and mess with one’s confidence in a situation like yours, but the numbers speak for themselves - you are in a good place.
I haven’t heard about mitochondria in so many years (obviously. why would I?) and I can’t explain why it feels so good reading this now.
I tried, but the amount of chewing gums I can, well, chew escapes reality. Seriously, I thing I could get addicted.

Technology@lemmy.world•Google Is the Only Search Engine That Works on Reddit Now Thanks to AI DealEnglish
2·2 years agoI wasn’t aware of this, when did it start? So far, it has never happened to me not to be able to view reddit threads
I use the ChatGPT Google Sheets extension pretty much every day to create tables, charts, and all kinds of lists for various clients and projects. The results are excellent, and it saves me a significant amount of time.

Technology@lemmy.world•The growing abuse of QR codes in malware and payment scams prompts FTC warningEnglish
1·2 years agoI agree, people don’t really pay attention or bother to read about stuff like How to check if a QR code is safe. Honestly, I’ve been dealing with QR codes for quite a while, and I still occasionally spend time looking things up, reading about quishing, and whatever new scam/term appears.
This is actually not a bad idea at all. Although no hope for skipping unhealthy snacks.
Just make sure that busy comes with money and that it ends at some point.
Excellent point.

Makes a lot of sense, thanks!
