Forbidden snacks

Probably the combination of having a controller and touchscreen but NOT having a keyboard. Or recognizing the CPU series (SoC type). Or both.

Took a look, and there’s some neat new stuff there but it’s really just the LEP lights and some of the new keychain lights (like the rotating head ones) that are noticably different, many of the rest feel like more of the same (quite literally just more features in the same old flashlights, USB and side lights and display in everything now, even a few more with integrated fans).
The Loop Gear does seem like it has an interesting combination of features, though (especially that batteries still are replacable). And might get a Zebralight headlight this time around (are they still the most efficient?) and the Wuben G5 looks neat too, alternatively that new Nitecore flat penlight…
And for that matter, are there any more new lights with sliders/rings for control besides that Nitecore pen light?

Hi again.
Natanael_L at reddit, haven’t been active for years, but there’s a chance one or two of you might remember me. Finally have a budget for flashlights again, and being here at Lemmy feels refreshing too.
Looking for new EDC lights now. Some good keychain / pocket clip light, and something powerful that’s like the Nitecore EC4 but more modern (efficient, high sustained output). Maybe also a new right angle flashlight with magnet (lost my old one years ago)

Beroende på hur avtalen ser ut så kan det vara så att fasta månadsavgiften per kund mot hyresvärden står för större delen av utgiften, och att skillnaden i pris för snabbare abonnemang är ännu mindre med volymavtal.

The one that survived without needing to be shut off essentially serves as proof of viability, and combined with the data from the ones that was repaired it helps them figure out how to adjust the design and manufacturing to make every unit last longer. Basically, future turbines should be cheaper to run.

I have alts. No automatic sync, but you can list your alts in your profile like I do.
On mobile make sure to use a client which makes it easy to switch between accounts (I use Thunder, which additionally shows server status in the account switcher!)

Nice to see the status lights back on green!

[Windows subsystem] for [executable environment] is the naming scheme. The default is Win32, there’s one for POSIX (practically never used), and Linux runs in another.

Malicious compliance is when you follow a order or law knowing that it will backfire on those who issued it.
“Lawfare” is a comparable term but not quite it (basically legal harassment campaigns).

This affects the view of posts via the bluesky servers, but not via mirrors or other servers

Several Android manufacturers have their own settings in the OS for battery longevity (automatic schedule based smart charging, or charging limits)
Don’t think it’s native in Android. Charging limits need support in the charging controller chip, plus driver support in the OS.

Wireguard is most reliable in terms of security. For censorship resistance, it’s all about tunneling it in a way that looks indistinguishable from normal traffic
Domain or IP doesn’t make much of a difference. If somebody can block one they can block the other. The trick is not getting flagged. Domain does make it easier to administer though with stuff like dyndns, but then you also need to make sure eSNI is available (especially if it’s on hosting) and that you’re using encrypted DNS lookups
Telegram has been under fire from the start, lol. 'we have math PhDs" 🤷
You’re getting paid to be available and respond if needed. That’s not something to feel bad about.
Plenty of people have similar jobs like first responders and on-call agents in silent shifts where nothing ever happens. Your bosses probably know - they’re paying you anyway specifically because there’s always the possibility something happens and it’s cheaper and less risky to already have you there and ready. Just make sure you’re actually awake and available and you’re fine.
I get the part about not wanting to feel judged for having an easy job, but at least your wife should know just for the sake of being honest.
