  • George W Bush Jr.

Yes I am handing him the worst president title, even over Trump.

Because, it was his mishandled War on Terror, that plunged the country into massive national debt. He crashed the housing market. He literally had waged a war on obese people, minorities and other things as distractions from his failure to capture Osama. He allowed American Surveillance with Patriot Act I and II. His cabinet were all crooks and he was just a dumb puppet.

He is essentially the ripple effect of everything we’re dealing with today and Trump is merely the symptom of that.

  • I’m not going to try prying people I know from their comfort zone. If they want to be on Facebook, fine, be on Facebook. If they want to stay on Shitter, stay on Shitter. If they want to be on Reddit .etc .etc

The reason I left reddit, multiple times, was because of the inexcusable amount of toxicity. It got so bad, that I couldn’t complain about my work anymore on a subreddit meant for people who complain about their work. Nothing is done about trolls, they’ll happily stalk you, you block one bastard, another makes an alt in seconds to resume.

And spez continues sitting there with his stupid braindead grin on his face, doing fuck all to just do ONE simple thing to prevent it - retool the registration. See, Lemmy trolls can’t get away with treating the registration as if it was a machine gun for alts, least not as readily as Reddit’s. You have to wait to be approved, you have to make expendable e-mails and there’s a bit of time at play here.

  • I think it’s going to hurt me as a retail worker. Any retail worker knows, that your pay is usually based on how well your store is doing. And your store’s profit is tied to the purse of the corporation that in turn, pays you. Now if Trump is dead set serious on wiping Immigrants out of the workforce and not willing to raise the wage and combat inflation (we know he won’t). That just means the corporations will start cutting jobs than doing what’s right.

And if hundreds of retail jobs are cut, so there will be store closures. Store closures happen, you’re out of work because people will not want to pay the high prices of inflation once everything is in full swing.

So, I don’t know how I’m preparing for this. It’s going to upset a lot of my plans going into next year if my store is affected. I work at Wal-Mart and basically their stance is they’re going to raise prices so we can expect to see jobs cut and store closures because of underperforming profits of said stores. Simply because a so-called “businessman” doesn’t know how the fuck tariffs work.

As a shopper. I guess it’s back to relying on Dollar Tree again…
