10·2 years agoDoes mean that the unvaccinated anti-vaxers will keep away from the vaccinated??

Technology@lemmy.world•What would you like to see in a house IT setup?English
5·2 years agoAt least one cat 6 ethernet in each room. Multiple outlets in any media room. One of my old houses had speaker jacks in each corner of the room which was a godsend when setting up surround sound for a home cinema setup.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Hair probably had an important function at some point in human evolution but now it's mostly cosmetic
2·2 years agoI guess I’ve been looking at it wrong the whole time! Although, living in the countryside would be preferable for moustache-rainwater

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Hair probably had an important function at some point in human evolution but now it's mostly cosmetic
58·2 years agoI appreciate the usefulness of my eyebrows to divert rain away from my eyes. I do not appreciate my moustache’s water gathering properties when walking in humid environments.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you sit at a desk and keyboard for multiple hours? If yes, please recommend a good chair.
9·2 years agoSurprisingly this chair has come out highly in reviews when compared to 4 figure chairs. I have it and can say it is very comfortable. It’s not going to be the best of the best, however if your budget doesn’t stretch to more than mid-3 figures this could be a good alternative.

I just do a moustache as my beard doesn’t grow very thick.
Prismo@lemmy.worldtoaskmenover30@lemm.ee•Trying to revive this community. What are your best advice for a health long-term relationships in your 30s?
2·2 years agoListen, really listen to them. Put yourself in their position and really empathise with them. Remember and reaffirm regularly that you are a team and that you both have the others interests at heart, you should be one unit against the world.
If you get mad or argue, apologise, it doesn’t matter who is right, you’re apologising for upsetting them.
Do things together, and separately, share your experiences.
Try and eat facing each other when you can, with all the screens around it can really be easy to forget that face to face contact.
Never go to sleep with unresolved issues, don’t be afraid to be honest about why you are upset, and make them feel comfortable doing the same.
Prismo@lemmy.worldtoaskmenover30@lemm.ee•Men over 30, how often do you see your friends?
3·2 years agoA lot less than I would like. My best friends maybe once a month or two, other friends once or twice a year. In my twenties we would all see each other a few times a week. People have moved to different cities, had families or are generally to tired from work or have lots of commitments. Also, covid really fucked the routine of seeing friends often. It definitely made me more reclusive.

Technology@lemmy.ml•Europe’s deepest mine to become giant gravity battery
2·2 years agoYeh, again I’m not sure how efficient using water is but my instinct says it will be a lot better than any mechanical system as they are generally very inefficient!

Technology@lemmy.ml•Europe’s deepest mine to become giant gravity battery
4·2 years agoI’m going to preface this by saying, all I know is that know about the subject was one physics class in college… The teacher mentioned Hydro Pump Storage that pumps water into a reservoir when there is an excess of energy generation then releases it through turbines when there is a surge is energy needs on the grid. Wouldn’t this idea work in a very similar way? If so it would seem feasible as about 15% of the UKs STOR requirements are met in this way.
