Super late reply, but for anyone else coming across this thread later:
The bypass plug allows you to bypass the normal filter in your fridge and hook it up to an external filter.
It does contain an RFID chip.

For Sim Copter, my favorite was making a city in Sim City, then there was a way to place a military jet that would become a military chopper (usable missiles and all) in Sim Copter. I think either the first or last tile placed of this would become a military chopper.
I also remember practicing landing a helicopter if the fuel ever ran out (pitch forward, then pitch back at the right time to force the rotors to spin up and slow your descent just right to be able to land softly).
Then there was always driving around your own city and just destroying everything in Streets of Sim City.

Never used any of these hotlines.
What I did use were the magazines you could find at most stores at the time. Those would have walkthroughs and guides for most of the games available at the time.

Additional context from his pinned comment to that video:
I’ve been away from internet all day and it sounds like I got my hands on a couple of bootleg/counterfeit sets here! That’s neat. Love that. I’m going to leave this video up as it is because the overall lesson here remains mostly the same - but I am embarrassed this thought never occurred to me, especially with The Good Place Blu-rays. I honestly thought a Blu-ray release of that show would be niche enough that a run of pressed discs wouldn’t be justified and didn’t question it. I’ve not been paying attention to physical media for nearly a decade so I’ve missed some memos and made one too many assumptions!

Next up, we’ll have to change terminology for “parents” and “children” once they find out how we use those terms with memory management.
Granted, an awesome feature would be to only show 1 title, if the other title is exactly the same.

A lot of users will recommend different services to replace YouTube. In my opinion, the best thing you can do is use GrayJay.
You’ll be able to use any of the services (PeerTube, Odysee, Nebula, YouTube, Twitch, Kick, Rumble, Dailymotion, Bitchute, etc.).
Then all you have to do is follow those that you usually do, but you’ll be able to find them on any alternative service (if they use them).

Wow, tons of awesome references in this image. Took me a while to find Waldo, I started to think he was down by the Zerg Hatchery and Serenity.

Also works with Arbok -> “Kobra”

As a Star Citizen player, I’m all for other games stepping up with some real competition.
I can’t wait to hop back in to No Mans Sky and check out this update.
That being said, this isn’t an update that has implemented all of what makes Star Citizen stand out. We still don’t have hundreds of players able to congregate on a single ship. AI pathing/tactics in NMS is very basic. We don’t have cities/interiors on the scale that Star Citizen has. A single planet doesn’t have much of a variance to their biomes (no mixes of tundra/desert, forest, high altitude, low altitude, wetland etc.). We’re mostly limited to just Cave, Surface, and Underwater biomes.
I’m hoping that we start to see more complex planets with the work being done on Light No Fire. I’m definitely looking forward to future updates on this game.

This game was a lot of fun for the demo they released a short time ago (servers aren’t up anymore).

For anyone with one of these GE fridges. If you read the fine print in the owner’s manual, they will send you a bypass plug for free (just once) if you call and ask for one. You will need to provide the serial number of the fridge.

Don’t forget that PieFed supports polls where Lemmy doesn’t. And PieFed also supports blurring photos using spoiler flair instead of just relying on NSFW tags as Lemmy does. And the crosspost feature where you can view comments from all communities at once from wherever it has been posted into.

The best way to handle transitioning from YouTube is to use GrayJay. Follow creators that you like and when any of them have a platform on a different service, subscribe to them there.
Besides YouTube, it supports any PeerTube instance, Patreon, Twitch, Nebula, Odysee, Rumble, Dailymotion, Ted Talks, etc.
I joined the fediverse when Reddit made their API changes.
For me, personally, I found Kbin/Mbin to be a sort of hybrid between Twitter and Reddit, and I wasn’t a fan of the layout. Lemmy felt a lot more like the Reddit-like experience I was looking for.
However, PieFed then came along and it feels like Reddit, but has features that cater to the Fediverse much better than Lemmy does (such as being able to combine communities into feeds, crosspost handling,), as well as other features that are great (polls, spoiler blur for image posts, etc.).

That’s a fair point. I think in most cases I would want to be upvoting a post and all of its cross posts, but there are cases where I wouldn’t want to upvote it in other communities.
For instance, a post that you like might get cross posted to something like c/facepalm. If you disagreed with that assessment, you wouldn’t want your vote to be applied in that way.

Somewhat related, it would be super interesting to get a breakdown of what the votes are like on a per instance basis. Maybe some sort of pie chart.
I’m going to put one out there for the Star Citizen character customizer.
Players upload their creations to the website here: https://www.star-citizen-characters.com/ (I recommend sorting by most downloaded, but there can also be some good stuff under the default latest sort).
And they frequently hold competitions on who can make the best characters.
