The angles aren’t crazy, but you’re right. It tends to knock shit off of tables and out of random lockers. They aren’t gimbaled, but subs totally do have cupholders clipped onto everything possible.

You’d be surprised. Most submarines shoot missiles straight up or torpedoes straight forward.

3·1 year agoIn the English Engineering System, the unit of mass is 1 pound mass (lbm), and is equivalent to the amount of matter that weighs 1lb at 1G. I won’t argue that EES is a good system, but it does at least have a kludged unit for mass. It has an equally kludged unit for force, too, called pounds force (lbf).

3·2 years agoThe US Navy is an exception, and doesn’t use metric. Even their nuclear stuff uses the English Engineering System (Mostly imperial units.).
This year’s starting strong for me; I baked a box of brownies 2 hours after New Year’s, and ate them all within 48 hours.
He could be in the military. I know a few people married with houses in the US at about that age, and the story fits.
Maybe it’s just all the sequels, but I’ve been really enjoying this season.
My references are for me, it’s just a happy accident when somebody else understands them.
