Pine cones are great to start a fire with along with cardboard like toilet rolls, I use a bit of everything, newspaper, cardboard, small twigs and pine cones then bigger kindling and then when that’s going, really dry wood.

I still “sing” it sometimes, I don’t even know if the brand is still available. I think I had to YouTube the ad to show the kids once, as well as other ads that I occasionally “sing”, because they had never seen them. I feel like less ads use a good jingle nowadays.

Mostly passively cooled house 24.7 degrees, outside 31.6, still bearable inside. We have no A/C, only cooling is ceiling fans and curtains on only 6 out of our 30 windows. I’m glad we aren’t having too many hot days in a row this summer.

Power back on woohoo, freezer mostly still solid, slightly unfrozen pizzas for dinner

Power still out at home I assume, am planning on cooking an entire upright freezer worth of food on the bbq when I get home. At least there was no damage to our property, but I would like a shower.

It’s the last year for my youngest, I hope she got to school, eldest was supposed to drive her to the bus. If there was a kerfuffle it wasn’t my problem I was at work already.
