I lent my ds to a friend. Never got it back and was lied to that they didn’t have it. Such bs.

Ukraine@sopuli.xyz•[Feel good story] Wagner mercenary mugged on his way home from the front
52·2 years ago$8500? That’s his entire salary for risking death for 6 months in a mercenary group? That sounds like a terrible deal.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•me when I tap the blurred nsfw image on my Lemmy timeline expecting something cool like a horrible accident but it's just boobsEnglish
5·2 years agoSecondarily, why is a horrible accident cool? I don’t agree with this post at all. Boobs are sooooo much cooler.

World News@lemmy.world•Russian parliament bans gender reassignment surgery for trans peopleEnglish
31·2 years agoI imagine this is why many people that might consider it just dont. It’s easier sometimes to just do the expected things at the expense of one’s self.
Yeah it’s not the best song in the world but it’s catchy and kinda fun. I can definitely see why some people would say it’s annoying but there’s a reason it went viral.
What kind of cost is that?

60·2 years agoI get where they’re coming from. Moderating a huge online presence where people can make posts about things is difficult and costly. But… It’s their platform and they’re in charge of it. So… It kinda sounds like they have to.
Tell me about your experience? I’ve been interested, but it’s admittedly daunting.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Intel is quitting on its adorable, powerful, and upgradable mini NUC computers
4·2 years agoFor most people, why get a nuc when you can get a laptop? Nuc fills a niche.
All I can say is that when I tried ultra wide, I was unimpressed. It’s good for somethings but it felt more awkward working on it than multiple displays.
It’s absolutely a preference thing, but if you can just get a bigger screen instead of an ultra wide, that would be my pick. I ended up going multi screen with my work set up.
Generally the return polices are pretty good so you can try something and return it if it doesn’t meet your expectations. I returned 3 ultrawides before I decided it just wasn’t what I wanted.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's a company secret you can share now that you no longer work there?
1·2 years agoYeah, getting access into the vpn and subsequently the server is the challenging part. Once you’re in, there’s so much that can be found quickly and somewhat easily.

Well it at least is an obstacle. Broke hackers won’t get it or will have to work harder to get around it.
