I can’t believe how far I had to scroll to find this. This is what I used to get started. All the important stuff in an easy to digest tutorial. Highly recommend.
This was the punchline I was expecting.
To be happy.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is your favorite voicemail app and why?
2·2 years agoThis is true. Though, I’m already using a Pixel, so they’re already reading all my messages, emails, seeing my photos, etc. I would expect any other voicemail service could/would do the same.

6·2 years agoI’ve been using Google Voice for years. Sign up for a free number and forward voicemails to the Google number. It transcribes and allows me to keep all my voicemails no matter which carrier I switch to and it’s 100% free. The only thing I wish they still had was custom greetings depending on who calls.
That’s ridiculous! Everyone knows that all of existence began last Thursday. https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Last_Thursdayism
I feel like I’m always the odd one out. I prefer the cloudy, rainy days. I also like when it gets dark early. It makes it feel like it’s later than it is. I get excited when I see that I still have a few more hours before I have to head to bed.

The app is pretty similar to Google Photos. You can search locations, people, etc. It’s cool and works well enough, but I just use it as a secondary backup. Google Photos is still primary for me for now. I’d recommend giving it a try though. You can use the app without syncing anything just to see what it looks like first.
