Is it an older model? New ones have ludicrously short guidelines regarding how long they should be used to knead dough at slow speeds.

Hummus gang rise up
Pressure cooking beans has changed the way I stock my pantry. I go one step further and freeze portions in bags, then just pull them out and thaw whenever I need beans for a recipe. Let’s me keep some ready to use beans on hand at all times.

4·1 month agoI love how fast the checkout is. The thing I detest most about my local Dillons (Kroger) is how long the lines get because they rely on self checkout and refuse to employ enough staff to open more checkout lanes. Aldi is lightning fast by comparison.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•I've been told that I "bottle things up and then explode". How do you not "explode"?
2·5 months agoFriends and family will either listen to a point before saying they can’t handle it, or some of them I wouldn’t bring these problems to in the first place. When I do talk, I get tired of my response being the thing they focus on instead of the source causing my frustration. I’ve attempted therapy for years with varying success; after some bad experiences I can’t trust therapists anymore. All anyone cares about is if my emotions are impacting them in a negative way, nobody actually gives a shit about how I am doing as long as they aren’t directly inconvenienced.

16·7 months agoI jumped through hoops like that once. Six or seven interviews with everyone from HR to one of the company founders, had to submit a freaking essay, only to be low-balled by the salary at the end; I ended up declining the offer. Biggest waste of time.

4·7 months agoI get you’re being over the top to make a point, but it seems a bit ridiculous to compare overpriced popcorn to a first class plane ticket and staying at an expensive hotel. We’re talking about experiences that people used to indulge in on a whim, or which were reasonably affordable for average folks. That is not the case with the examples you provided, and those kind of purchases are large even for some people of means.

7·7 months agoYou’re not wrong, but you’re also ignoring the fact that the whole point of a movie theater is to have an “experience” and the snacks are part of it. Sure, you don’t have to get it, yes your strategy can be done and will work, and I have a long and storied history of stopping by the candy aisle in the grocery store before noisily making my way to my seat and enjoying my discount goodies. But buying a ticket to a theater is a matter of spectacle and experience, and that exact experience is becoming rapidly unaffordable even when you just buy the tickets alone anymore.
