I agree but I don’t want to encourage people preemptively stressing out too much to the point that they either make bad decisions or completely burn out. We can’t lose it every time something bad happens that we have no control over.

It’s really important that we take care of ourselves right now and choose our emotional battles. This situation is incredibly heartbreaking and enraging but we have to keep things in perspective and keep a level head in this crucial time.

The powers that be are hoping we will burn out and/or make poor decisions based on fear. They are hoping that people with no gun experience will rashly buy one and make mistakes with it. They’re hoping we stress out to the point we can’t function. We have to be careful.

Fuck Trump. Fuck Modi. (And that’s coming from a Hindu. He can fuck right off)

While I don’t disagree let’s not forget that hate crimes are unfortunately not unheard of regardless as to who is running the country.

In most situations being armed makes you more vulnerable.

Also do not get one if you have ever thought of harming yourself.

Please look into other ways to arm/protect yourself if possible.

So I have a stupid and ignorant question to ask:

I’ve seen arguments online stating that We The People cannot band together to sue Elon for accessing our personal information because he has been given “permission” by the president so to speak.

But

Can we sue him for being an illegal immigrant who is accessing our personal information?

There probably are a lot of livid conservatives but we’re not going to hear about it. They rig the elections and they rig the media coverage.

It’s what Trump would do.

He’s just a permanent petulant child.

This. We need to all agree to not comply.

This does make me feel very sad though. Sad that our education system and culture let people like this down and left them so gullible. There are a lot of steps that have to happen before people make terrible decisions like this.

This isn’t excusing it but I am an Anthropologist and I can’t help but look at everything as an elaborate cultural web. The disease is way deeper than the voting populace. These people were lied to and believed it?!

You put the equivalent of mobsters in the White House and suddenly these checks don’t matter. As a country we fucked around and found out.

Seriously I tried warning people but they were certain that our existing laws would hold up. It’s heartbreaking.

So it’s like your average American doesn’t believe this is even a possibility regardless as to what they have said.

There are a lot of reasons for this. Many of us did see it coming. However, we have all still been culturally brainwashed to think that our government has too many checks for things to get this far out of hand.

I used to work for Medicaid. This is absolutely ghastly and nothing short of domestic terrorism.

We should do this with the sole intention of throwing a wrench into the process and making the Dems pay attention. With the distinct understanding that we should not allow it to divide the progressive vote under any circumstances.

This is done all the time. Think the Tea Party or the Green Party etc. They’re just extensions of existing parties meant to bring attention to certain topics.

The Right never hesitates to use this kind of tactic and we need to grow a spine and do it as well.
