  • I never doubted you care about Palestine, I’m just pointing how you can care about other stuff at the same time - good or bad. It seemed you were implying I can’t care it because I’m calling out animal abuse. All is not black or white, but animal abuse is a pretty large line to cross. I was mostly ok with the left not criticizing him and ignoring him when he acted like a douche because it wasn’t worth the trouble I suppose, but animal abuse should be called out. And when he and his fans go around gaslighting people - and you even have “leftist” streamers (if they aren’t just clout chasers) contradicting each other trying to defend him - it’s even more important to call it out and not let it be swept under the rug. Especially since the right can also seize the opportunity to take the moral high ground. I’ve even seen “apolitical” people calling it out and mocking it, but the few leftists who even mention it do it with kid’s gloves.

Anyway, I don’t remember exactly what my first comment here even was, but the gist of my point is: the dude abuses his dog and tries to gaslight people, we can care about multiple stuff, this shouldn’t just be ignored, I think other leftists should at least condemn and call it out instead of looking away while others try to bury it. That’s all.

  • I wasn’t saying you specifically, but funny how “there is a genocide going on” is the same crap he says to deflect. I can give a shit about more than one thing at once.

This is not overshadowing political discourse. We can talk and care about more than one thing at once. And who is the “you” and the “us” in this case? And who says I don’t care if a right winger kills their dog? Everything you say is some version of whataboutism.

What if instead of animal abuse, he assaulted someone? What if it was sexual assault? What if he murdered someone? Where is the line at which point we are allowed to talk about it and condemn it? When does it go so far you can’t deflect it with “there’s a genocide”?

Let me turn that on you; you have comments on your account in the last month talking about tech and cars. How can you talk about that when there’s a genocide going on?

And yes, you should fully reject a fucking abuser, it has nothing to do with their politics. I already told I’m a leftist and I can do it, so you can to. Stop protecting a fucking abuser.

  • In answer to what you’re saying, firstly, I find it fucked up to call it identity politics. People don’t want animals to be abused, and so they call it out and post about it like they do for other news.

Anyway, I’m a leftist. I don’t really consume right wing media and I don’t engage with those communities. And as a leftist it hurts me to see other leftists give a pass to someone like Hasan because it’s just giving ammo to people on the right, and when it’s such a large community it can make a big stain and push new people out. Not to mention no one should be given a pass. Like, Hasan fans will literally bend over backwards to defend it and act like a cult. Dude has already made several excuses and finally landed on “she wasn’t even wearing a collar”, even though you can see it in the vod; but if you post screenshots his fans will say it’s photoshopped. I’m not good enough with words to convey my feelings on this phenomenon and my distaste for those people. There’s more to mention, but this comment is large enough.

Finally, in answer to your last paragraph, it’s a fair point in general, but in my case I’m a vegan.

  • She yelps in pain and he doesn’t even check on her. He coincidentally was reaching out of frame just as it happens. And there’s more clips of him reaching out when she leaves the bed, after which she goes back. There’s also a clip showing the remote, and he keeps contradicting not just himself but friends who try to defend him. That, and more.

Even if you don’t consider shock collars abusive, it’s clear he is abusing her by forcing her to be in a corner for hours on end, without even water.

Stop running defence for this dude just be cause he says he’s a leftist.

  • There’s no fucking debate, dude. It sickens me to see so many people try to defend this, and that the dude is so popular in leftist circles. That’s why it should be an outrage. I’m sick of seeing leftists prop up this dude and ignore/defend any bad he does, especially now with animal abuse.

The dog moved out of bed, he got annoyed at her, reached out of screen, and she yelped. Since then people have found other clips of similar stuff happening: his dog staying in the same spot for hours, and when she tries to leave or reposition he reaches out of screen and she goes back. And the remote can even be spotted in some streams before he hides it.

Even if you don’t think shock collars themselves are bad, forcing a dog to stay in such a small place for hours without even a water bowl amounts to abuse. And his constant lies and contradictions show that knows what he is doing is fucked.

  • Capitalism has only been around since the 1800s, and humans have been hating and killing people different from them for thousands of years.

I’m a socialist is well, but I don’t like how many people see socialism as a silver bullet for everything. I think it’s dangerous.

If we take socialism just to mean something like “workers are the ones who own the means of production; they take part in decision making and share the profits”, that doesn’t mean everything else will be solved. Some people will still be bigoted. Those (worker owned) companies will still have ads because they’ll still want to make money*. A lot might still give no fucks about the environment and keep polluting. And if it’s still a hierarchical system, there’s no reason those in power wouldn’t try to abuse that system, try to profit from it, oppress people, start wars, etc.

    • Obviously the ads aren’t as bad as the rest, that feels a little out of place. I just mentioned it because I’ve had and seen conversation where people seem to think that marketing and advertising would go away without capitalism.

  • It’s homophobic to look down on someone for being a bottom. How is this hard to understand? It’s nothing new either, it’s something that’s been around for a while and which is part of macho and homophobic culture. You can see that in prison rape/culture as well. No one questions your manliness if you’re the top, but if you’re a bottom you get called the bitch.

  • I think I did take a picture at the time, but I can’t find it (it was too long ago), but the stitching was on the outside.

Edit: I guess in this case there was no “inside or outside” because since I bent the material in half to make it double layer, they had the same texture and everything. But I did use the stitching side as the outside. Maybe not very smart in hindsight, but I think I did it because it was just more comfortable to hold.
