In answer to what you’re saying, firstly, I find it fucked up to call it identity politics. People don’t want animals to be abused, and so they call it out and post about it like they do for other news.

Anyway, I’m a leftist. I don’t really consume right wing media and I don’t engage with those communities. And as a leftist it hurts me to see other leftists give a pass to someone like Hasan because it’s just giving ammo to people on the right, and when it’s such a large community it can make a big stain and push new people out. Not to mention no one should be given a pass. Like, Hasan fans will literally bend over backwards to defend it and act like a cult. Dude has already made several excuses and finally landed on “she wasn’t even wearing a collar”, even though you can see it in the vod; but if you post screenshots his fans will say it’s photoshopped. You can see her paws clearly and there’s no hint of her dew claw getting caught anywhere, and this “work” he is doing is talking to an audience that would have no issue with him interacting with his dog. The dog moved out of bed, he got annoyed at her, reached out of screen, and she yelped. Since then people have found other clips of similar stuff happening: his dog staying in the same spot for hours, and when she tries to leave or reposition he reaches out of screen and she goes back. And the remote can even be spotted in some streams before he hides it.

Even if you don’t think shock collars themselves are bad, forcing a dog to stay in such a small place for hours without even a water bowl amounts to abuse. And his constant lies and contradictions show that knows what he is doing is fucked.

I was enjoying Avowed a lot but got a bit disappointed after reaching the second area/city, lost a lot of steam and haven’t picked it up again in a while.

I was trying to roleplay a certain kind of character, one who didn’t like the idea of messing with soul essence and agreed with the empire about disallowing it, only to be forced to accept it and take in an expert on the the topic to help her perform experiments. Really dampened my experience.

I generally love old RPGs, but when I tried BG1 some years ago, I got insanely bored and didn’t finish it. I’ve always been embarrassed to admit, so it’s nice to see a fan share a similar feeling haha

Not super old, but I decided to try Mafia III and Watch Dogs Legion. I’m usually very critical and picky, but surprisingly I’m enjoying both of them a lot. I’m still not sure what all the negative reviews are about.

Aside from a couple of graphical glitches, and occasionally funky enemy AI in Mafia III, there’s not much I can complain about. I’m liking the story and gameplay quite a bit, in both games.

I am playing WDL pirated so that I don’t have to deal with the Ubi launcher, so that might have helped.

I’m a socialist is well, but I don’t like how many people see socialism as a silver bullet for everything. I think it’s dangerous.

If we take socialism just to mean something like “workers are the ones who own the means of production; they take part in decision making and share the profits”, that doesn’t mean everything else will be solved. Some people will still be bigoted. Those (worker owned) companies will still have ads because they’ll still want to make money*. A lot might still give no fucks about the environment and keep polluting. And if it’s still a hierarchical system, there’s no reason those in power wouldn’t try to abuse that system, try to profit from it, oppress people, start wars, etc.

Edit: I guess in this case there was no “inside or outside” because since I bent the material in half to make it double layer, they had the same texture and everything. But I did use the stitching side as the outside. Maybe not very smart in hindsight, but I think I did it because it was just more comfortable to hold.

That’s an entirely separate discussion, I’m just talking about the environmental impact of having kids. The impact of having a kid is just the impact they will have as a person.

That is a really skewed stat. Having kids is only the worse thing a person can do, because of the average person’s lifestyle (and therefore that kid’s future lifestyle). How many cows are born each year (and release methane gasses into the atmosphere) just because the average person won’t go without meat or milk?

If the average person didn’t drive and was vegan, then the impact of having kids would be severely reduced.

EDIT: Put it this way, what do you think would be the environmental impact of a hermit dude living in the mountains who grows his own plant food? It might be an extreme example, but the point is illustrated.

Yeah, I’m in Portugal and while it’s true that we still had signal, all I could really use was WhatsApp. Any website I tried to use took way too long to load - just unusable.
