Es ist definitiv nicht alles so wie vorher, aber ich glaube besonders viel wird sich nicht geändert haben - zumindest nicht für die “normalen” Nutzer.

Ich habe auch die letzten Tage gemerkt, dass es hier wieder ruhiger geworden ist. Letztendlich war es aber auch klar. Die meisten Leute juckt es halt nicht und man geht den weg des geringsten Widerstands.

Am Rechner lande ich dann auch immer mal wieder bei Reddit. Du betreibst Troubleshooting für irgendeine Nischenanwendung --> Google führt dich sicher zu Reddit.

Am Handy hat mein Konsum halt abgenommen. Die Reddit App werde ich mir nicht holen und die Website ist (gewollt) grottig. Dann wird halt mal kurz bei Feddit reingeschaut und dann war es das.

Kann man nur mutmaßen. Ich fahre selbst viel ÖPNV, aber finde dass es auch ingesamt angenehmer Arten von Reisen gibt. Zumindest in Deutschland ist das Auto schon angenehmer.

Der Grund: Menschen. Wenn du individuell unterwegs bist, nervt dich halt keiner, zumindest direkt. Kein Gelaber, keine Musik, kein Gegröle und auch kein Gestank. Die Klimaanlage geht meistens auch.

Wirklich gut geworden. Endlich mal im modernen Zeitalter angekommen. Speziell die Nachrichtenliste ist endlich brauchbar geworden!

I have actually started finding results for things on programming.dev on Google.

I don’t really think that Lemmy or Mastodon will really replace their counterparts. At least not for now. As many have already said, the federation system is too complex for many non-technical people. It would take something like a de facto standard app, that abstracts everything federation related away and make it feel like another centralised solution.

Another point for me is the searchability of federated systems. Say you are searching for a technical problem right now, google will surely bring you to a related subreddit in just seconds. I have yet to see a Lemmy related search result.

Irgendwie traurig, dass man sich überhaupt mit der Thematik auseinandersetzen muss. Wenigstens weiß man es jetzt.

Most of the time I’m just using Plasma 5. But I had some great time with sway.

Simple: Arch for desktops and Debian for servers.

Regarding the kernel upgrades: Using the linux-lts package / kernel get’s you a pretty reliable setup.

For me it’s traefik. It’s took me a while to get it working, but it’s actually really easy now. Setting up container access with labels is very convenient!
