Yeah well those are quite large cities on a worldwide scale. Compared to the Netherlands we have a housing program for folks under a certain income and even those lists are long as fuck whilst buying a home is next to impossible if you’re not a two-income home with college degrees.
I figure Canada has a lot more room than the Netherlands has yet farmers all over our country are considering moving to Canada; matter of fact there are entire companies here that do just that for Dutch farmers

Okay so get to work on climate change
It’s probably due to some cultural differences but the meat on a spin unit is called döner kebab here. Shoarma is little strips of pork with a certain herb on it. It’s more like gyros in a way.
Shoarma is popular in my country on pizzas. I was never a fan but it grew on me.
Oh nice. I was impressed with both those shows. I can really recommend Slow Horses, I am currently reading the first book and the show stays super close to the book. Also Gary Oldman is excellent as Jackson Lamb.
I got into Shameless after watching The Bear because of the cast. It was also interesting to see the guy from the Jedi games as a tv show actor.
If you’re going to give it a go, be aware it has some pretty adult themes as well as graphical sex and violence.
Something else on the list for me is the last couple of episodes of Slow Horses. I wanna try Dept. Q after that but I’m afraid it’s gonna be a letdown after Slow Horses.
To me, shared experience is always an easy ice breaker. Stuff like mainstream media is a quick win. And yeah, sometimes if people are a bit more underground or indie as far as their media is concerned grants them an image of having a distinct personality, but that usually only works if they’re socially strong and have other stuff they can connect with other people over.
I’m not saying you should consume anything that gets promoted massively, but keeping an eye on what’s popular and seeing if anything floats your boat might give you an easier time striking up a conversation with someone.
I used to be really dismissive of anything with a huge advertising budget. If something gets promoted everywhere all the time, it’s unlikely I’d give it a chance. Somehow I felt more interesting than others because of this. Turns out you’re not, people lose interest really quickly when they can’t talk to you about anything.
Pretty sure the current state of New York City is not really a Dutch legacy. But you’re welcome I guess. You’re welcome my people decided to get on boats and plunder half the globe.

Same here, my country just voted on a new government but I doubt most voters know more than 3 names on the ballot yet Mamdani is everywhere.
Then again New York City’s population is more than half of ours. New York state is probably more.

I haven’t really followed it much but the media seems to be reporting it as ‘Cuomo vows to punch you in the face if he sees you on the street while Mamdani will solve most of the problems caused by Trump. It’s a neck-and-neck race’.
I really don’t know what’s going on in the US at the moment. I just hope Cuomo’s threats of having Trump siege New York were as empty as they seemed. If the GOP does resort to undemocratic acts like that, it could have dire implications all over the (western) world.
Similar for the Netherlands
It’s one thing if you’re just learning the mechanics but just running around shooting everything in sight and interacting with all kinds of things shows you have no clue what kind of game you are playing.
I read of another player who got dropped into a squad with rando’s even though the toggle for that was off. So it’s possible these people never wanted to mess up another player’s raid.
It’s not stuck, you’re just in queue. Took me 10 minutes, then played a round solo waiting for my friends and suddenly was matched with two absolute noobs who just looked like they wanted to try the game for a minute.
I heard it’s now free with GeForce NOW so lots of new players.
It’s currently impossible for us to create a party.
That’s a very wordy ‘ignorance is bliss’
Mine was ace, a friend of mine wanted to play it on Xbox but it was only available several hours after the PC launch. Another friend played on PC and had a crash at the start of every raid, but could play fine when reloading the game.
I’m seriously considering to stop following the sport altogether since watching the events live often means I sacrifice part of my weekend and more often than not it’s just not worth it because either nothing happens all race or stuff does happen but the folks who direct it are more interested in showing celebrities and partners of drivers.
I regularly fall asleep during races.
