There are more detailed answers here and I don’t have any personal experience to add but just based on your question I would suggest you stop drinking entirely.

It doesn’t sound like you have a good relationship with alcohol. It isn’t something you share with friends or a “hobby” like wine or whiskey tasting. It sounds like something you just do kind of as a habit.

You aren’t an alcoholic… yet. If you could afford beer when it wasn’t on sale would you drink a lot more? If you had free access to infinite beer how much would you drink? It kind of sounds like the answer to those questions might be “A lot” which is bad.

It sounds like alcohol is already having a negative impact on your life. Do you agree with that statement generally? Skipping positive healthy things for a beer is pretty objectively bad.

Honestly just stop now while you can. Just stop buying beer. Even on sale it’s a waste of money. Nothing against you but this does read like a post someone would look back on and say “I was right and I should have stopped while I could.”

You have the freedom to do whatever you want but if you’re asking random internet strangers if you have a drinking problem the answer is almost certainly yes. Not a big problem but why take the chance? Alcohol just isn’t that great.

Others have given good advice on narrowing down the issue. I’ll just say that I don’t think you’ll ever get stability with 8gb for win 11. Ubuntu is going to struggle sometimes with the 4gb left for it too.

I would look into upgrading the ram first. Old laptop ram can be very cheap. I doubled the memory in a laptop for my mom by adding a 16gb stick I got on eBay for $20.

If it has an empty slot just buy an exact copy of the module it has and it will probably work. If both slots are occupied you’ll have to do some research to find the correct modules and it might not be worth the money and hassle.

Drugs.

Talk to your vet about drugs. Some people need anti anxiety meds to function. There are a lot of options to try. I won’t try to convince you of anything specific but I’m sure your vet can provide some options.

I’m surprised no one is really talking about asexuality. Sexuality is a spectrum. It’s entirely possible and perfectly fine if romantic relationships aren’t as important to you as they are to other people.

I know people who spend entire nights crying and reinforcing their dogs separation anxiety because they can’t find a partner. Others that are much closer to retirement than college who have never had a serious romantic partner and don’t seek one.

You probably shouldn’t prioritize work over personal life. You also don’t have to be in relationships if you don’t want to. I would recommend keeping an open mind and not getting stuck on labels. If partners and relationships aren’t something you think about a lot that’s ok. If not having that bothers you then you might want to seek professional help to assist in figuring out why you’re avoiding relationships.

Also keep in mind that basically every country on the planet heavily encourages marriage and children so get used to skipping all those options on your taxes and benefits.

There are already so many great and detailed answers here. I’ll give some short opinions.

Take a training class or go with a gun loving friend to rent some common guns. Decide which one you like the most and shoot well. Having a gun you can personally shoot well is much more important than some feature people say you must have.

Get a flashlight on the gun or to keep with the gun. Don’t put a flashlight on the gun unless you personally want to.

Get something you can easily carry all the time. The super cool full sized handgun on your desk is not as useful as the .380 in your pocket.

Spend some money. A good used gun is almost always better than a cheap new gun. Guns don’t expire and it’ll probably always be worth close to what you paid if you go to sell it.

Get a good holster if you’re carrying. Don’t be afraid to try a few and see what works. There is no right choice. It’s all about what works for you.

It’s all about you. Seek advice but do what feels right to you. The things that matter are how well you can shoot that gun and that you have it available if needed. You get to decide what that means to you.

Personally I carry a .357 6" revolver and a .380 bodyguard. As long as my pants have a pocket I can have the bodyguard on me.

PBS has excellent live coverage. It might be free on YouTube but you can access all of PBS’s videos stuff by donating to them. It’s a bit of an odd process because you donate to your local PBS but their streaming service is consolidated.

NPR also has good coverage if you want to play a board game or something while still following the insanity.

I’ve been using freecad for several years and it has improved a lot. I tried fusion and sketchup and a few other “freemium” options but features kept disappearing into the paid section so I decided to stick with something actually free and learn it.

I use the two dimensional sketcher the most. Find some tutorials about using constraints properly and it is very easy to use. The tech draw workbench lets you add dimensions and information in a printable format. Figure out how to do 1:1 scaling with your printer and you can make templates with perfect accuracy in minutes using only a few key dimensions.

Assembly is still a complicated process though. The assembly 3 and assembly 4 workbenches are great but pretty arcane. I don’t remember which one I used last time I did a full multipart plan but the result was great. Basically they let you create anchors on lines and vertexs and such that then interact with each other across parts.

The trouble is in how those anchors interact with their parts. If you round an edge you just made some lines shorter. Was that anchor point attached to that line? Now it’s in a different spot. Essentially you have to be perfect every step of the way and plan ahead or change many things for even a tiny change like a round edge.

With a little practice I’ve been able to get the assembly benches to make great results. You really have to do it correctly though or it all falls apart. The lack of in depth tutorials means you have to make a lot of mistakes and learn from them.

I would suggest trying freecad with either assembly bench. I’m not sure which one would be better suited to your needs. If it doesn’t work for you paying for sketchup or fusion might be a better option. I think in a few years freecad will be very competitive but for now it lags behind on ease of use. Sometimes by a lot.

That thing is trash.

Even if it mounts and doesn’t break anything much more important like the CPU or motherboard the heat pipes don’t look like they have full contact anymore. Minor damage to the heatpipe and pad interface will cause huge issues with heat transfer. Considering the cost of a cooler vs everything else I would not use it.

There are so many factors to consider and questions you have to answer for yourself.

You cannot have just one donkey. They’re herd animals and need companions. Other animals like a goat or cow might be good enough companionship but I would never suggest that. You will find stories about donkeys living alone happily but they’re a rare exception to the rule. I would question if the people claiming such have a good understanding is equid behavior.

Donkeys don’t need a ton of food but they do need it constantly. A few acres of land with edible plants is more than enough for a donkey to eat. It’s harder to keep a donkey thin and healthy than fat. However that depends on where you live. Will you have year round edible plants or will you need to buy hay in the winter? What is the price of hay in your local area and where would you buy and store it?

Donkeys need to have their feet cared for regularly. It’s entirely possible to learn how to do that yourself but what is the availability if it’s something you can’t handle? This depends very much on your local area.

Medical care is a very complicated issue. There are regular vaccines and care that every equid needs. Those aren’t very expensive and usually easy to access. Emergency care depends on your local area. If you are very remote then emergency care is whatever you can do personally. Getting outside care will be very expensive and a long wait. You have to consider what level of medical care you are able to provide and decide if that is acceptable to you.

As the donkeys get older their care will become more complicated and expensive. What level of care are you comfortable and capable of providing? How will you deal with serious issues that arise?

Living a rugged individualist lifestyle in a remote place is a totally viable strategy for some people. Donkeys do very well in rugged remote places. Millions of people around the world depend on donkeys to survive.

It sounds like you are looking for a pet and not working livestock though. That means you have to decide if the lifestyle you can provide a donkey is acceptable to you or not. What happens when something expensive comes up and you simply can’t afford it? What happens if your circumstances change suddenly? What are you capable and willing to do when there is a medical emergency and help is seven hours (or seven days depending on how remote you are) away?
