The only inhabitants are US military personnel. The locals were all deported to Mauritius and the Seychelles in the 60s and 70s.

OHDoT is installing tons of roundabouts at rural intersections and it is so funny listening to locals bitch and moan about them. They aren’t hard, y’all are just morons.

Pretty much every town around here has lead pipes that are becoming a serious problem. Couple that with the de-industrialization that happened in the 70s and 80s, so anyone with ability got out of here back then.

People here straight up hate renewable energy. They vote against wind turbines and solar whenever it’s on the ballot. These farmers are so deep into conspiracy theories that they go to local government meetings and say wind turbines cause brain cancer. It’s been that way around NW ohio for decades now

I wouldn’t say “useful” but the military industrial complex does at least employ actual people to create actual things, where as an AI data center just siphons off the resources of an area and creates no jobs. This is avoiding any moral judgement on weapons production, simply saying that the energy that goes into it is creating an actual product.

Half of the episodes from TOS involve Kirk having to fuck some lady in order to save the day. My complaint is that we are Kirk doing all the cool shit in TOS, while we are mostly told how cool Picard used to be, but he always just seems like a dweeb that everyone is constantly fawning over.

Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, and Cubans mostly
So what did this radioactive ring supposedly do? there had to be a reason that kids were excited to win one
Cannot stress enough how eager the Democrats are for you to keep over as well

It won’t because the liberal parties are fucking useless everywhere. Look at Macron and Starmer as the main examples. Meanwhile the German government wants to keep shoveling money into the Palestinian genocide.
Because economist and even business leaders don’t actually have any control over the economy. They try to predict it and make changes, but they have no real power as was shown by COVID and the Ukraine war.
Spring is actually the worst season, at least in the Midwest. It’s cold and rainy all week and everything is just a mud bath, then randomly you get a day where it’s 80F, then more rain, then a snow storm,
And the Irish potato famine was small change compared to the deaths from the numerous famines the British caused in India in the 19th and 20th centuries

And their entire value is based on them having committed all their future shovels for the next 8 years. So what happens when all those contracts are cancelled because the buyers are bankrupt?

Enron was #7 before they collapsed. Nvidia will be the hardest hit when the AI bubble pops

Because there is no federally guaranteed paid maternity leave in the US

I saw OK Go in Detroit last year and at first the all ages concept weirded me out, but it was awesome seeing families take their kids and the band did such a great job interacting with the kids. I loved it so much

Alexis de Tocqueville pretty much predicted this 200 years ago when he did his study on democracy in the US. He pointed out that there was nothing in place to actually enforce the separation of powers and it would take only one despot to throw the whole thing in the trash. The only thing that would surprise him today is how long it took for America to reach this point.
Obviously some template phrases are repeated a lot, but those are not the majority of sentences. Consider talking to someone on the phone for 20 minutes. You have the customary greetings that take maybe 30 seconds along with your farewell in the last 30 seconds, then you have the next 19 minutes of actual conversation where you exchange information. The conversation would not need to last for 20 minutes if you were just repeating the same phrases over and over again.
Yes, I read the article. The guy I responded to seems to think Diego Garcia is an Okinawa situation where the military is embedded alongside civilians, and that the local economy is benefitting from the US Naval base. Only the Chagossians are gone, forcibly expelled from the island over 50 years ago to countries that are not the UK. He’s just straight up lying and saying the Chagossians benefit from the current situation, which is comically untrue. Is like saying the best path forward for inhabitants of Bikini Atoll would have been continued nuclear testing of their homes.
