I saw this number on another post about the same article. And the original math was something like 10 million is 1% of a billion. And Bezos is worth ~250 billion.

So 10 million would be 1/250 of 1% of his wealth. And i did the math to see what that would amount to for a normal person.

If you have $100k in total (savings, investing, properties etc), 1% would be $1000. And 1/250 of that is $4.

So if Bezos was someone who had around $100k in total, the amount he was asked to pay to clean up the entire towns shit is $4.

Media headlines that use the word lobbying probably do it so that people don’t take up arms. If they were to instead call it bribery, I think a lot more people would take issue with the whole process.
