Weirdly what we need is for Trump to not pop his clogs before ‘28. He is the best example to floating voters of the realities of a Reform government. I work at a FTSE 100 in London. My black colleagues reaction to the pushback on DEI from the right has just been so depressing. They’re not remotely surprised and seemed to have suspected that this ill will was there all along. The west really was just putting makeup on a dog all these years wasn’t it.

I love EQD pedals, the Avalanche Run being my staple Reverb/Delay for almost a decade now. Tariffs suck but I do wonder if a lot of this is down to the boutique pedal industry getting greedy and people moving to modellers as a result. The gazillion dollar pedalboard kind of had its time and in an economy where disposable income has tanked, paying $250+ for a slightly tweaked clone is less appealing. I really hope they survive though, great company and lovely dudes.

This has really started turning me into more of a conspiracy theorist. I’m a centre left Labour voter and Kier Starmer’s absolute refusal to engage with any criticism of Israel when children are being amputated… It’s very eye opening on who really pulls the strings of power in the west. The European Parliament has just blocked even debating the ongoing breaking of the ceasefire.

His coddling of Russia in the context of Republican history is the biggest red flag. Especially when you take into account his penchant for money (bitcoin rug pull, Qatari Force One etc etc)

We are territorial animals. Creating a shared enemy for your tribe/pack/herd etc to fear/hate works better than anything, even to the extent you will turn a blind eye to your sides leaders blatant incompetence and corruption. He might be shit, but he’s our shit. We did the same thing when Biden was a gibbering doddery oap, and Labour are doing it now in the UK despite Starmer and Co governing from the sodding right.

I think she’s cleverer than most people give her credit for because she’s also batshit. The MAGA movement is going to eat itself as the reality of Trumps policies ramp up and polling tanks. She is distancing herself early so she looks like she was right all along when the bullshit excuses run out. She’s being cordial and making sure not to look opportunist but I guarantee you in 2027 she will start saying the ideas aren’t wrong, just the implementation. She will run on cutting aid to Israel, pulling out of Venezuela and retaining ICE but with some optics only ‘humanitarian’ guidelines.

I would have thought cunning is a form of intelligence? Using strategy and planning to apply knowledge? I’m intrigued, will have a look. Cheers. Garland’s understandable desire to appear a-political in the Jan 6th and Trump cases will be a stick the left use to beat the moderates in the Democrat party for decades, and rightly so.

If Garland hadn’t wasted 15 months working from the bottom (rioters) up Trump would probably be in prison now. I think he was well intentioned but didn’t have the bottle to be the guy who put the wheels in motion for banging up a President.

I just don’t think this is the case. He’s an incredibly smart man but his intelligence lies in assembling talent and raising investment to allow said talent to create the vision. He’s basically in the same vein of Steve Jobs. Our media driven culture likes figureheads so he gets all the credit and has started to believe his own hype. Bill Burr the comedian has a great bit about their function.

Musk is a horrendous man but clearly very autistic and desperate for a validation that money and success can’t provide. There’s something very tragic about him. The bitterness and resentment that sits at the base of his ego, frustrated at not being popular or ‘cool’ despite his success and money drives a LOT of his bad decisions. It’s all an attempt to control.

Ah man I’m really sorry to hear that. Hopefully Virginia and New York are the first signs of a well deserved backlash. A lot of the companies that went all in on AI to replace UX/UI and research are quietly hiring back now. All the best.
