We all live amongst weak willed people. I too am the only one I know truly and faithfully engaged in the boycott.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Could Canada be the Next Ukraine? Russia is Our Neighbour, Too - [Opinion]
6·10 天前Trump famously drew a line straight across Ontario and Quebec, presented this map on international news and said that the border was an arbitrary line based on bad old deals, effectively making everything East of Brampton, the United States. I didn’t really exaggerate almost any of what I just said.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Could Canada be the Next Ukraine? Russia is Our Neighbour, Too - [Opinion]
44·10 天前I’m more concerned about the neighbor that has verbally expressed a desire to use economic means to pressure Canada into agreeing to be annexed only to become a territory with no representation while they’ve also enacted a decades long propaganda campaign to destabilize one of our most resource rich regions with pro-separatist messaging? If Canada is the Ukraine, then Alberta is Crimea in 2014 and Russia is the United States, bro.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Canada’s environmental ‘realism’ looks more like surrender
2·10 天前I had the good luck of being in a Liberal safe seat riding, so I voted NDP with the comfort of knowing I wasn’t splitting the vote for the Con candidate, but it sucks that these are the choices we’re forced to make.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Canada’s environmental ‘realism’ looks more like surrender
1·10 天前To be fair, you probably just voted Liberal. It’s unlikely most people voted for Carney because he didn’t have a seat until he was already leader, and then it would have been whoever was in the riding he was dropped into that voted for him in whatever byelection it was that he would have to have won. But yeah, I get it, fuck that guy.

3·10 天前“If it’s not a match, then the facial data is immediately discarded, Cooke said.” Lol, yeah, okay, and the Toronto Police claimed not to be using IMSI catchers illegally until it was confirmed by media that they were. You literally can’t be afraid of digital ID and social credit and then be okay with this without having shit for brains.

5·10 天前The St. Paul Tourist centre is a round building with the UFO “landing” on it as it’s entire roof, the UFO tourist centre is the coolest part.

3·17 天前Lol, looks like offshoring a ton of mining and manufacturing to countries just sitting on top of valuable resources wasn’t the genius long term plan our corporate overlords thought it was? 🤷 Whoopsies!

Ask Canada@lemmy.ca•Why do the majority of Albertans continue to vote in a government that is obviously eroding their healthcare and education?English
5·24 天前That response provided zero historical context. Balance isn’t what the question was asking for. The question was roughly, ‘why do Albertans keep voting against their own best interests’ and a number of really good and thoughtful answers were given and when you boil them down to the truth of those answers, saying simply that “both sides see the other through the lens of past grievances” really does absolve one side of this (that bears virtually all of the responsibility for these issues) of their sins.

1·27 天前Fair question, it was my mistake to imply that same sex blowjobs have to be gay, especially when in this case it wasn’t, if it happened at all.

4·29 天前Even the Libs talking that shit can save it. Not everyone is sharing Bubba Trump blowjob memes because they hate gay people or think that gay blowjobs are worthy of ridicule. Trump blowing Bill Clinton is deserving of exactly the amount of ridicule it’s receiving tho, true or not.
The Thing from the 2000s is a prequel. It could be mistaken for being a remake because the plot mirrors the original in a lot of ways, but it happens before the 80s version. It’s not bad, but it’s not better than the original, it doesn’t add much either, but it isn’t bad. Additionally, the 80s version is actually a remake.

I got a warning for threatening violence for saying that landlords weren’t a protected class of people and so you can’t commit a hate crime against a landlord.
