Eventuell noch eine Überlegung: FRITZ!Boxen kann man in aller Regel ganz gut weiterverkaufen. Eventuell ist es ja eine Möglichkeit die aktuelle zu verkaufen und ne kabelversion zu kaufen. Reduziert komplexität.

Ansonsten vermutlich wirklich am einfachsten die „günstige“ von Vodafone zu nehmen und die FRITZ!Box dahinter zu klemmen…

Klar, da hast du absolut recht. Aber selbst “einfach Mods austauschen” ist bei tausenden von Subreddits auch nicht mal eben gemacht. Man kann natürlich die größten präferieren, aber dann bleibt trotzdem noch für einige Wochen/Monate eine ziemliche Beeinträchtigung in der Diversität von Reddit.

Es ist glaube ich gar nicht so trivial einfach mal alle Mods auszuwechseln. Gerade in den großen Subs wie r/funny sind das ja schon einige Personen.

Selbst wenn du genügend freiwillige findest, ist dass erstmal ein haufen Menschen die nicht aufeinander eingespielt sind. Dazu kommt, dass von der API-Bepreisung ja auch Thrid-Party Mod-Tools betroffen sind… Am Ende sind die Subs dann vermutlich deutlich schlechter moderiert und sterben dadurch einen langsamen Tod :)

Kommt vermutlich auf die Definition von “reich” an. Kann man mit 70k gut und ohne große Einschränkungen leben? Absolut! Kann man von 70k alleine eine Familie ernähren und nebenbei bei aktuellen Zinsen und Preisen eine Immobilie abbezalen? Keine Chance.

I don’t think they’ve completely stopped just yet. We’re not even halfway through the season. I can see them scale back their efforts significantly tho. But yeah, you’re right. Probably the field will close up a bit towards the end of the season. How it’ll effect 2024 we don’t know. Here’s to Merc and Ferrari not shitting the bed again and Aston continuing onwards on their upwards trend.

I doubt that they’ll be able to take the fight to RB by the end of the season honestly. RB or Max specifically hasn’t really had a reason to show the true pace of their car so far. The difference in race pace is just too big.

Next season could be a different story. Surely Ferrari will also get their shit together, right? :D

yeah sure. but for the larger communities like r/funny that’s gonna take some leg work. You don’t just reopen a 40 million user subreddit without a substantial amount of mods. That’s not even thinking about the abysmal state of modding tools and death of modding tools due to API pricing.

That’s actually a great point. Haven’t really done much posting on reddit for the past couple of years but really enjoy the more intimate feel of lemmy atm. We’ll see how it all pans out but I yearn for the old phpbb days of the internet :D

Really curious to see how long the more popular subreddits will remain private. Surely the admin won’t just turn them public again without having any mods, right? I kinda would love to see that dumpster fire.

Totally agree. Scrolling through reddit this morning was different. We’ll see how the fediverse will deal with the influx of users that is to be expected in the next two days :)
