I am a Senior Linux Engineer with almost 3 decades of experience. I have been a developer in many roles, using technologies like C, Basic, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (including the reactives), ASM, Python, and many others I have forgotten. I love to learn about other languages, and collect movies, ride motorcycles, and body build.

  • Hi! 👋 If you’re brand new to websites and server management, NodeBB probably isn’t the best starting point. It’s excellent software, but it assumes you’re comfortable with things like Node.js, databases, server configs, and occasional troubleshooting.

If you do want to use NodeBB, I’d strongly recommend either: Having someone experienced set it up for you, or Using a hosting provider that offers NodeBB pre-installed and managed

For a first site, you might find it much easier to start with something that has one-click installs and minimal setup (many hosts offer forums and website builders that handle most of the technical side for you).

Once you’re more comfortable, you can always migrate later to something more powerful like NodeBB. And good luck with your game server, have a great day too! 😊
