Aqui em Almada na minha zona não houve grandes estragos. Em casa fora alguns baldes que se espalharam pelo quintal e umas vedações caídas não houve nada de grave. Espero que esta noite seja mais calmo
Hi all, I’m Paulo, I’m 44 and from Portugal, Lisbon area. I work in IT and my favorite pass time is reading books (even though not doing a lot of that now) gardening, cooking, playing with my cats and watching movies and TV shows. I like sci-fi and anime. I’m an introvert and a shy person, not very good at making new friends, especially in person and when there is a lot of people around.

1·2 months agoOh, one thing I forgot about the language, Brazilian Portuguese is not that different from European Portuguese, there are some expressions that are different but we understand each other very well. The accent makes it look different but its a matter of getting to know the language

1·2 months agoHope I’m not joining to late in conversation but as someone from Portugal I can say the LGBTQ+ situation here is quite OK, people are tolerant and if you go to a big city like Lisbon or Porto you can find lots of community support.
The weather is also nice, winters and short and the temperatures are mild most of the year, even though it can be really cold for a few days in the winter. Summers can be tough due to the intense heat but there is AC almost everywhere and near the coastline its more tolerable.
As for immigration things have been better in the past and there is starting to be a bit of resentment for immigrants, especially those with lots of money that contribute to make life more expensive for the folks living here. The immigration laws have also been tightened and there were some changes to the entities regulating immigration, I advise you to look for information at the AIMA portal and see what applies to you.

2·2 months agoHey, it seems like a nice community, unfortunately doesn’t seem to have much activity. I’ve been trying to move all my socials to Mastodon but still feel a bit lost with the way the communities are dispersed. Hopefully more people will join and become more active.

Hey, unfortunately this group has little activity but we can always chat if you want to
