We are almost done with our Abiotic Factor server that we need to clear first. Survival Half Life with SCP Foundation-like elements is a fun premise and we’re enjoying the run.

I’m waiting for Motemancer to get a little more content and then I’ll probably start a solo run there as well with its early similarities to Factorio. Schedule I was also fun from my initial toe dip, and I’m looking forward to a little more content before I play with some friends.

There are a lot of options, I think the hurdle people need to get over is life-like graphics does not equal a good game, and can often get in the way of, or completely sideline, elements that are fun and can make or break a game.

I generally agree “both sides” is a shitty argument, but thinking democrats are going to save us is naive. Time and again they have shown us who bought their vote, while ignoring those who voted for them. They will happily take your money and smile while mitigating any real impact you could have on the status quo.

The reality is both parties are beholden to their wealthy donors over the needs of the average American.

The right exists to ratchet us to the right toward fascism, and the corporate Democrats are there to make sure things don’t shift too far left when Republicans lose power. Notice how democrats stopped taking about universal Healthcare and spent 0 air time talking about the needs of the average American in the 2024 election? Much easier to push the most regressive antiimmigration legislation they’ve ever pushed, basically giving Republicans the groundwork for the shit we see today. I say democrats but it’s not Progressives that run the party, money backs the corporate Dems.

Money has poisoned our political system and until we do away with money in elections we will have a broken system that serves only those with lots of money.

The Democratic party broke the Democratic party by letting the mask slip and showing that when push comes to shove, the Corporate Democrats find fascism to be just fine with their wealthy benefactors interests.

After years of the party using “this might be the end of democracy” for campaign purposes, their actions show they either don’t care or are actively on board with ending it. In a conflict where monied interests are trying to destroy our nation and rebuild it to solely their interests, is it surprising that those who have fattened themselves with that money are rendered ineffective?

You might even call them the controlled opposition, a failsafe to ensure things don’t shift too far left. I remember how the DNC put their finger on the scales and gave us Biden, and then instead of giving us a choice played games and threw Kamala at us rather than open a primary. But hey the DNC machine made money from donations from people desperate to keep fascism at bay… and the reality of the threat only made them more money.

From my perspective based on their actions in this defining moment, corporate Democrats are not our friends and will choose to enrich themselves instead of fight for us at every self-interested opportunity.

We desperately need to get money out of politics.

Corporate Democrats run the party. Corporate Democrats are closer to Republicans that they are the Progressives in their party. It’s why after the election their thought wasn’t “did we fight hard enough for working americans?” it was “hey maybe we should start bashing trans people, it worked for Republicans”.

For Corporate Democrats this is business as usual. They lost but so what? Their donation machine brought in a shit ton of money under the auspices of “this is the end of democracy if we don’t win”, but if they acted like that in their day to day it would piss off their billionaire owners. There are legitimate instances where “both sides” is blatant hypocrisy, but this isn’t one of them. Democrats lost because they refused to address the inequalities and power the rich have. Just the other day the new head of the DNC was talking about how they will only take money from “good billionaires” showing they haven’t learned a thing. When the wealthy can buy your party and control the direction it goes, seemingly always to the right, that’s a fucking problem.

When it comes to the wealthy the right and left hands of this nation are more than happy jerking each other off for their personal gain at the cost to the rest of us. Corporate Democrats are Republicans for all intents and purposes in this case.
