Not really. If the admins of that instance don’t want to federated, that’s their prerogative. They’ll gain or lose users based on that decision. The beauty of the fediverse is that it’s all on a voluntary basis. If beehaw decides to federate with a small cluster of other instances, then they’ll have their own niche just like the current internet.

Adulting@lemmy.world•People with pets: how do you deal with all the fur?English
1·3 years agoWe have a labrador. He gets brushed with a Furminator brush every few weeks, and we vacuum EVERY. SINGLE. WEEK. Otherwise the shedding is out of control.
We discovered shortly after we adopted him that I am allergic to dogs, something I never noticed growing up with dogs, likely because my family’s house was larger than our small apartment. So now the solution is being better about cleaning, as well as a daily dose of zyrtec for the life of our dog.

Fuck Cars@lemmy.ml•Why do people still drive cars daily when bikes exist?
1·3 years agoThat’s just the university buildings and grounds dept not adjusting the sprinklers properly/using poor sprinkler design. Bikes should ideally go inside, but they’re beautifully simple to maintain machines and can tolerate the outdoors if maintained.

0·3 years agoI would even accept outdoor bike parking as long as showers and a changing area was provided.

1·3 years agoAnd heat. Particularly with workplaces with no end of trip facilities. It’s 106 F with the heat index and humid where I live currently. My last workplace had lockers and showers, and so I rode even in the rain and heat, but my current job has no bike facilities whatsoever. I only ride in when the weather is good enough that I can ride in without worrying about changing more than my pants and shoes and freshening up.
Those straight Lancers are hot.
I didn’t try MCC or multiplayer, since I was just performance testing on the computer (will eventually be the wife’s machine after we move next month), but even running Academy with the bots was running great. I was able to sign into my Microsoft account no problem though, so I want to try multiplayer next.
I wasn’t even using Wine. I installed it and launched through Steam and the entire process was as seamless as if it were on Windows. Valve is doing great work.
That sucks. Where i grew up it was much of the same, but the shoulders were wide enough to run on when cars were present. You could check AllTrails as well. Maybe train running is better in that area.
Man, I miss living in a rural area where you can safely road run in the countryside. Where did you move, OP? I bet there’s great routes that you just haven’t discovered yet.

Lemmy.World Announcements@lemmy.world•Reddit CEO: We're Sticking With API Changes, Despite Subreddits Going Dark
8·3 years agoAs more and more people host their own federated instances it won’t be as big of a problem as it was for web 2.0 legacy sites like reddit. The Fediverse really is the future.

But that’s no different than the current internet. Like I said, it’s beehaw’s problem. If they want to strictly enforce native users on their instance and have their stricter account creation process to join their community, then that’s no different than the current internet.
