  • That if chain is horrendous. You should have a config json file with an array of links and then use a for and check for each of them.

The advantage of having a config file is that it’s easily for others to see everything that can be changed dynamically without touching the code, and it’s much easier to maintain forks that change or extend the configurable behaviour.

Hard coding shit is bad because it’s actually harder to maintain. No programmer worth their salt has difficulty checking the json file that has the configuration for X list, hard coding an if chain is bad coding.

  • often dewinged.

Not where I live, it’s not been a popular practice in Spain for more than a decade. There might be some people who do it, but it doesn’t happen “often”.

Bees overproduce because they might not have enough honey for winter, but farm hives are a way safer environment than wild hives, which leads to that honey not being necessary in winter. It is engineered to make them overproduce, for sure, but I’d say that in the animal abuse ranking, it ranks pretty low compared to signals everything else.

  • Since when reducing 90% of their meat intake is being a hypocrite? It’s objectively reducing the suffering of animals.

I don’t eat much meat because I know that morally it’s the correct choice, but personally I don’t care for the animals that died when I do eat meat. I’m completely aware that their murder is fueling my tastebuds, and I don’t hide it. I don’t think I’ll ever go full vegan unless the food offering changes, because I personally don’t care enough for the animals. I’d say that rn I’m 90% vegetarian, meaning that I probably eat meat only once a week.

Call me whatever you will but saying that eating meat once a week is better for animals than eating it every day is objectively true, and I’m not a hypocrite for promoting the reduction of meat intake.

Idk how long you’ve been alive bilut the reduction of meta intake in Europe has been notorious in the last 20 years. The biggest impact is not from people going cold turkey, it’s from all the families that reduce their intake by half. So yeah, meat intake reduction IS having an impact.

By the way, where is the hypocrisy in the post?

I thought she meant -30 and was complaining about the cold temperature or something.

“Yeah weather irregularities are more common, agreed! It’s because of climate change right? It’s in the name itself!”

    “Nah it’s NASA”

    “Huh?!”

  • I work remote and in my context a quick call is always a video call, which tbh feels low key nice to interact with coworkers.

Usually they are having an issue and need to share the screen, or are showing me a document they prepared and are explaining their reasoning for feedback, or I had an idea for their issue and I wanted to explain them with some pseudocode… I much prefer quick “calls” where I can show my screen than text, presenting ideas and hearing feedback is sooo much better (not only faster but better) if you can see the face of the person you are working with.

  • It says that even if you have conventionally ugly features, having good thoughts will still show on your face and people will notice. The inverse is that regardless of physical features having ugly thoughts will show on your face regardless of physical features and people will notice.

It’s okay to say that you didn’t get the comic. You can agree or disagree but saying that the comic states that physically ugly people have ugly thoughts is wrong.
