Technology@lemmy.world•Adobe abandons $20 billion acquisition of FigmaEnglish
30·2 years agoAdobe had already announced that they were sunsetting XD with the announcement of their Figma aquisition, as Figma is much more successful and filled the same space. I guess now the question is whether they decide to reverse course and revive XD now that they won’t be getting Figma

Games@lemmy.world•Final Fantasy XVI Is Getting Two DLCs And One Of Them Is Available NowEnglish
13·2 years agoSo it’s only exclusive for 23 days?
Really weird when the game isn’t currently on any other system…
Pentagram has been shit for years. Every now and then they come out with something pretty cool, but most of their work in the past decade at least has been mediocre at best.
Yes, this is basically the ending of the most recent season
I have an 85” QN90B and HDR on it looks fantastic, always bright and very clear. I’ve never run into the issues you’ve described here, maybe it’s only specific models?
I haven’t seen it in years, but isn’t the full quote when he’s trying to save him “take my little hand, it’s stronger!”
I could be misremembering though

Technology@lemmy.world•Not even the ghost of obsolescence can coerce users onto Windows 11English
10·2 years agoFrom a technical perspective, they didn’t remove it or any of the other missing features from the taskbar since the win11 taskbar was built from scratch without any of the old code for 10. For whatever reason, that feature wasn’t prioritized in the new taskbar build so it wasn’t built yet, or they didn’t want to add it.
I still think their decision to not allow the new taskbar to be placed on the sides or top is really stupid though, as someone with a 32:9 monitor, I’d much rather use some of my horizontal space for taskbar rather than limited vertical space.

1·2 years agoWhat do you think of the Hall effect joysticks? I was thinking of getting some, but been kind of turned off by reports of the square shaped output they have making rotating worse

Xbox@lemmy.world•Microsoft to sell off Activision cloud gaming rights to Ubisoft in bid for UK approvalEnglish
2·2 years agoFrom the article:
“Ubisoft will also be able, for a fee, to require Microsoft to adapt Activision’s titles to operating systems other than Windows, such as Linux, if it decides to use or license out the cloud streaming rights to Activision’s titles to a cloud gaming service that runs a non-Windows operating system.”
If Ubi is willing to pay a fee, they can force Microsoft to adapt any ActiBlizz games they want to another operating system for cloud gaming purposes.

Games@lemmy.world•OneXFly Review: A True ROG Ally Competitor?English
3·2 years agoOneX has been around for a while, their main competition up until the release of the Steam Deck has been AyaNeo and GPDWin. They do make some solid systems, but they’ve (all 3) traditionally been a lot more expensive than SD and Ally have pushed the market.

Voyager@lemmy.world•Voyager in the app store updates as fast as Voyager in testflightEnglish
1·2 years agoI imagine once it’s released on the App Store, updates will slow down due to Apple’s approval process, it’s just not a priority for them to approve updates right away

PC Master Race@lemmy.world•Latency just still isn't there unfortunatelyEnglish
1·2 years agoNot sure, I haven’t used wifi-based headphones before. I just know I don’t notice any audio latency when using APTX-LL supporting headphoens/adapter that I’ve noticed when just using regular bluetooth

PC Master Race@lemmy.world•Latency just still isn't there unfortunatelyEnglish
10·2 years agoAs long as you use headphones and a bluetooth adapter that both support APTX LL (low-latency), it’s instantaneous for me. Same as using it wired.

Xbox@lemmy.world•Would it be worth it to buy a used Xbox one X if I only have Game Pass?English
8·2 years agoI would probably recommend a Series S if you’re looking for something cheaper, plus is it’s a current system so you’ll still get access to any new games that come out, while with the One X you’ll be limited to older games.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•Probably the worst Deck 2 design I've seenEnglish
4·2 years agoFrom what I’ve read, the boomerangs ps3 controller wasn’t actually dumb at all. It was apparently extremely comfortable to hold because of the way it curved into your palms and the placement of the buttons and sticks felt really natural. But the poor reception to the look of it basically bullied Sony into reverting to the classic DualShock layout.
