Guns ‘n Roses was pretty bad, but luckily Metallica made up for it

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If someone where to use the term "Adult Playground", what would you think it describes?
2·7 months agoAmsterdam has been described as an adult playground (and not in a good way), so that’s what I think of

Really annoying that it’s at the Feed level. I usually browse Lemmy by Subscribed, so having to go back to Feeds looses my position in me own feed, just because I wanted to look up that one thing, or check new replies for that other message
I had my girlfriend sleep over when I was 17 (40 now). Besides that, what’s with the insinuations in your text? A little trust towards your son might go a long way further than insulting him

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What’s an outdated piece of tech you still use and love?
20·11 months agoI recently bought a Pioneer PD-F905 101 CD player. It’s 30 years old and I absolute love it. It needed a lot of cleaning (mostly nicotine and tar), but after that it worked like a charm again

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How do you find genuine community in an atomized, individualistic society?
3·1 year agoScouting helped me a lot with this. It’s an active community, and not just for kids. And it’s worldwide, so wherever you go, there’s a community you can visit, or recognize
It seemed to me that it happens on certain posts. It crashed on me when I scrolled past one, and consistently would. It also happened again later on start, but that was gone when enough new posts were there.
I can’t pinpoint the type of post though, or the individual posts.

Programming@programming.dev•Does anybody actually use trunk based development in their company?
19·2 years agoI’ve been doing this for the past 10 years or so. When I joined my current company a few years ago, it was one of the first things I pushed for. It made cycle times go down drastically and value is being delivered to end users at a much higher rate now.
With enough tests and automation, there is almost no reason not do on the web. On embedded or mobile platforms this might be a bit more difficult, although not entirely impossible.
The use of feature toggles also greatly enhanced our trust in being able to turn a feature off again if it turned out to be faulty somehow. Although we usually opt for patching bugs, it gives the business as a whole more confidence.

Programming@programming.dev•How do you holistically document microservices in a multi-repo setup?
4·2 years agoWe’re using backstage in combination with openapi. The schema is documented in OpenAPI, but how services are connected is done via backstage, which crawls all repositories and puts it together to form nice graphs we can traverse easily
