No, getting through to a doctor is harder than contacting a celebrity in my country. Cheap healthcare though…

Sweden@lemmy.world•On this day, 30 years ago, 14 year old John Hron was murdered by neo-nazis near Kungälv
5·4 months agoI listened to the Swedish radio documentary (P3) many years ago and I’ve never forgotten it. Can’t get over how he maybe could have survived but went back to save the life of his friend, he probably understood he sacrificed himself.
I think they do more checks in the beginning, or if you missed to scan something as the system probably sees you as more or a “risc”. I can understand your frustration though
You people don’t have self scanning? Pick a barcode scanner at the entrance, scan everything when you put it in your bags in the cart, and just pay at the exit and walk out (unless you get a semi-rare random check). One of the favorite features of the store I use is that I fill the shopping list at home in the app (that can be shared with other accounts) and then I see the list in my phone or the store scanner, sorted by the order of sections in the store, so eg. all fruit and vegetables will be next on the list when I get to that section. I also like that you see your total in real time and the scanner reminds you if there’s a “3 for 2” or other offers.
Especially when you read left to right so the “punchline” should be on the right I think.

7·5 months agoI think many of them are since chatgpt introduced the “Studio Ghibli” style earlier this year. They are usually these wierd mixes between anime and western cartoon styles, with a warm color tone for some reason
Hey neighbor! Sweden too, need a few weeks to find that one sunny summer day
Is that a “the pragmatic programmer” reference?

1·6 months agoLooks great! Always nice to see some more AoS content on Lemmy! If the nuln oil pools, can you just use less, or maybe carefully paint over the bright parts again when it’s dry?
She did get her research team after all :)
Reminds me of stuff I used to draw for fun as a kid, and not in a bad way at all, it’s just fun to look at and discover the details!

Warhammer 40k@lemmy.world•The importance of a dedicated setupEnglish
4·10 months agoI think it took 6 months before I made a more permanent setup and didn’t just keep everything on a tray I put on my desk. A year after that maybe I removed the computer screen from the desk to fit racks for 100+ paint bottles… A while after that I upgraded the shelves to be able to display more minis and Warhammer books. I think it’s important to let the spaces you use evolve with how you use them. I use the desk for other things but to have it as a painting station primarily makes me paint more

2·10 months agoI wish there was a more active AoS community but I guess I haven’t really done my part to improve anything either! Gonna have to remember to post more on Lemmy and not just the other places.

14·10 months agoI also left for good after ‘API-gate’, after more than ten years… It actually hurt to see how something that had been such a big part of my life for so long got worse and worse, like a family member becoming radicalized or something.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•Happy three years to the Steam Deck - the Linux gaming machine that changed everything
2·10 months agoI run Bazzite on a 3070 and it works well. The thing that is not supported yet is the gaming mode that basically turns your pc into steam deck mode as far as I understand it. It would be cool since I run my pc on TV only and mainly game with a controller. What I do is run Steam on startup and set it to start in big screen mode. Until a few weeks ago I used Linux mint and that was much more work with drivers for controllers and stuff. Bazzite is so good so far, seems to be exaxcly my use case for a TV Linux gaming pc.
I don’t know about electron but I tried Logseq because Obsidians license didn’t work for me. It’s open source and markdown files too

Work Reform@lemmy.world•Germany’s four-day work week proves to be a massive hit
22·11 months agoYes, I feel like this happens when these articles pop up from time to time. Like, it’s a good thing a few companies are trying it out successfully, you don’t have to falsely make it sound like the whole country switched

memes@lemmy.world•Remember: the SUX 3141 Ti is 60% slower than the SUX 3141 Xt. because it's 5 years older and has no components in common.
7·1 year agoFor many games you can set graphics rendering to for example 1080p but run the whole game in 4k so text, menues and so on are super crisp but the game still runs very light. But maybe it’s good advice to never even start because I can’t imagine going back to 1080p after using 2k and 4k screens

Just finished the game last week! Loved the first part with Leshy, kinda liked the other parts but I also love the meta stuff like having to chose files on the hard drive and so on.
My favourite keyword is probably the one where if the card dies it goes back to your hand. Many possibilities to create broken combos, like with a very cheap or zero cost card.
