Technology@lemmy.world•Meet QDEL, the backlight-less display tech that could replace OLED in premium TVsEnglish
3·2 years agoI checked the linked paper and sadly this brightness reduced the cell lifetime from over 5000h at 100 Nits to just around 5h.
So unless they find some magic, even better chemistry this TV as bright as the sun won’t happen.
Well yeah, if a friend of mine suddenly started behaving like a twat, I’d start liking them less. duh

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's your favorite song on Radiohead's 2007 masterpiece 'In Rainbows'?
3·2 years agoFor me it’s either Weird Fishes or Jigsaw Falling into Place. They are both so nice to get lost in the rhythm.
Also hiermit hätte man natürlich beides:

Yeah, and I’d say that’s a design flaw of the language as it is unintuitive behaviour.

4·2 years agoBut why not just enable it by default? The PC knows it’s a GSync Panel. It would be so easy. And kinda ironic as Nvidia was specifically advertising with the deep panel-Pc integration of their modules.

5·2 years agoHell yeah! I love the idea of space exploration. But at some point it does get really tedious.
Also love all the QoL changes which will probably make their way to Space Exploration in the end.

Uplifting News@lemmy.world•Massachusetts passed a millionaire's tax. Now, the revenue is paying for free public school lunches.English
8·2 years agoWell the USSR did also have a huge industrial machinery. But one thing that seems to emerge as a lesson from its downfall is that it is really hard to steer an economy with quotas and plans from the top.
A good market usually gives better incentives for people at every level. The problem is getting a good market which is definitely not the same as the libertarian dream of a super free market. Without good regulations it’s really easy for markets to get captured or become exploitative.
Some thinks should never be privatised(like infrastructure). And I think lots of industries would benefit from a state run (mostly nonprofit) competitor.
Wenn die Waffen vergleichbar mit denen der Briten und Franzosen sind, wehe ich keinen Grund diese nicht zu schicken. Je eher die Russen aus der Ukraine verschwinden desto besser.
