No but I think it’s naive to think otherwise. I’m not saying they’re stealing your banking info but I absolutely believe they’re collecting data on the actions you take ingame.

0·2 years agoPersonally I use memos as a Google Keep replacement. There are mobile apps for it as well called moememos.
Check out https://usememos.com
Debian + docker-compose
I do the same except I boot a usb installer instead of PXE.
Windows 11 on my main desktop, Debian + KDE on my garage desktop, and Debian on my home server and cloud server.
I only know how to do it manually by editing the url. Say you want to visit “asklemmy” on lemmy.ml and “asklemmy” on beehaw, but through lemmy.ml. The two URLs for this look like:
lemmy.ml/c/asklemmy lemmy.ml/c/asklemmy@beehaw.org
This may be a bad example because I don’t know if beehaw actually has an asklemmy community.

Lemmy@lemmy.ml•How much of a good idea is to have my own instance just to have my account?English
2·3 years agoI’m wondering the same. I assume you have control over the domain name so you can further customize your username but not sure what else there is to it.
For me it’s just ignorance. I don’t know if chromium offers what I’m looking for but I do know Firefox does.
Yeah, I’m leaning towards Proton mail with a custom domain.
I can’t quite pin down why exactly, but I’ve pivoted hard towards self-hosting these past few months. My biggest issue at the moment is finding a Gmail alternative.

3·3 years agoI set up a SearXNG instance a few days ago and I love it. I only wish I found out about it sooner.

I only read about half of that book but it had an incredible impact on my life. It didn’t impact my financial success but rather my emotional inteligence.
