Today, I’m just an opinionated Canadian writer with time on my hands. The world is a different place today, including the Donald Trump saga that ‘keeps on giving.’ That alone gives me lots to write and comment on. Check out more of my stories at … flippen.ca

I have to admit that part of the film always sticks with me.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Canada Considers Snubbing US F-35 For Sweden’s Gripen Fighter Jets
1·27 days agoWhat I don’t understand is: why are we changing one foreign manufacturer to be **** “dependent on another?” They could also pull out of Canada anytime they get a snit on, like the Americans. What is the advantage, other than getting even with trump? That’s my question???

Walking through Victoria Park this past summer, I noticed many people huddled together in a circle looking at their phones. I’m used to seeing all kinds of things and paid a never-u-mind until further through the park, there were more doing the same, and then there were more. I interrupted this fella walking and “texting”, and asked what was going on? “A Pokémon tournament.” Well, that explains it, or not, what is a Pokémon tournament? 😁
Many moons ago, I half-watched ‘Alien,’ part one. I still have a sore stomach thinking about it today.
The world community, like always, just comments and does nothing about this criminal act, but what can anyone do?

I am saddened that “one man” can change a long-standing friendship between two countries. However, after saying that, I have been accused of not keeping up with the times, and this must be one of those times where this old saying applies: “The honeymoon is over.”

Canada@lemmy.ca•U.S. tourism faces $5.7B US loss as Canadians continue to stay home | CBC News
3·1 month agoThere is not one Canadian who didn’t like the States or its people; however, your President alienated Canada in its first term, and most of us got over it. But for a high-end dignitary holding a grudge and threatening Canada with a military takeover in his second term, that doesn’t sit well with Canadians. We were brothers and sisters, we were family before. So in essence, I’m not sure about you folks, but friends and family do not shit on their own. It’s like cornering a dog with no place to go; someone is going to get hurt, and changes will be made along the way. Too bad you Yanks are so wrapped up in your ‘president’, you don’t see a storm coming.
Canada is such a diverse country today, with so many ethnic groups. Some believe in inoculations, and some do not. Mennonites were mentioned being one, but through all fairness, many other “religions” are not on board and will take their chances. COVID thinking was the same, and, we all know those results. However, for the good health of so many, to the few that oppose is a call I dont have to make. However, when I went to school, there was no question of why or should. It was mandatory. Period!!

I don’t know why Trump is whining; that ad was heard by millions of U.S. citizens years ago. Today it’s only an expensive rerun but on by the Ontario government. What’s the problem?

What I don’t understand is, if a crown corporation is losing billions of dollars, someone is not doing their job. Roll some heads, starting with Doug Ettinger, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Canada Post,
There is always more to the story, but Trump will be basking in his glory. I told ya Canada was …!!!

Last time I did research for my blog, there were three armoured vehicle manufacturers in the Toronto area, and highly respected by the world community. That information only surprised people living in Canada.
