Post like this are more cliched than the tv shows they try to make fun of. The meme needs to have an annoying kid brought in to save it, because it’s “jumped the shark”.

Add some LEDs and feel like you’re playing Tron instead of killing people.
Not weed, but I was going to HS prom in the 80’s and my date had a bottle of sparkling grape juice she showed me when we parked. 3 cop cars came out of nowhere, zoomed up and got us out of the car. I was laughing knowing it was non alcoholic. But the look on the cops faces was priceless. Just total disappointment. They all had to look at the bottle just to make sure. Hadn’t thought about that in years until your comment.

6·7 months agoThe vast majority of them won’t learn anything. They are just looking to blame someone right now. Next election (if there is one) some dem will say something they hate, things will be better for them, and they are right back on the trump train.
Most of them are too far gone, in the cult, and listen to nothing but the propaganda. Any soft realization will quickly be forgotten when they are told how it’s the other sides fault b

1·8 months agoSeems like at about 5000 employees is when HR becomes the thing that drives so many decisions that don’t matter. And from there it’s all downhill.
While simultaneously having compassion and empathy for billionaire fascist. lol.
Id say the Le Car and Yugo can be added to the list. My first car was a hand me down gremlin.

4·8 months agoThis seems like an extension of social media and the internet. Weird people who talked at the bar or in the street corner were not taken seriously and didn’t get followers and lots of people who agree with them. They were isolated in their thoughts. Then social media made that possible with little work. These people were a group and could reinforce their beliefs. Now these chatbots and stuff let them liv in a fantasy world.

Probably setting up the magas who want to go back to some real non woke “American hero” names. Gen Lee Slavemasters, red injun killers, white supremists, things like that. lol.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•People who live in touristic areas, what are the rudest behaviours you've seen among tourists?English
5·8 months agoOnly had one day at the Grand Canyon so I was by the congested main tourist area. Looking over the canyon, I turn around and there is a picnic table and nothing but McDonald’s trash left there. I don’t even know where the closest McDonald’s is, but they got it, drove in with it, carried it to a stone table overlooking the canyon, then just left the trash and walked away. WTF.
How old are you, or were you? Not saying there are no younger people who pack on weight, I’ve just found it’s harder to stay in shape as I get older. And if you’re not trying at all, this can happen to anyone. Course you his guy may have always been like that.

6·8 months agoI think if we were sent a history book from the year 2200, we would see that history has determine the US was already effectively gone by this point. Most just don’t see it yet. What’s left for us to figure out is where we go from here. So far, I don’t like the chance it is a better country or world.

News@lemmy.world•Teen ODs and died after UnitedHealthcare ‘denies addiction treatment’: lawsuitEnglish
9·8 months agoWhile not the point of this thread, just wanted to note for anyone struggling, themselves or someone they care about, there are lots of resources for addiction out there. Many of them free.
A treatment center can be a safe place to get clean and gain some knowledge, but it is a lifelong struggle for most who have addiction issues. Going into a treatment center does not “cure” most.
Please seek out help, even if you do not have insurance or are unable to go to a treatment center.

News@lemmy.world•After killing unarmed man, Texas deputy told colleague: 'I just smoked a dude'English
3·8 months agoHe wasn’t convicted and the whose system was used to cover for the cop. It took two years to just see the actual event. They investigated themselves. The use of the grand jury is almost always a farce. The death penalty is no deterrent for those given Free rein to kill as they see fit with no consequences.
And even if by some miracle those with the power to prosecute do so, they still have to find a jury to actually convict a cop. In many places, that is not happening. The guy in Florida who got some popcorn thrown at him murdered a man and was let go by a jury. And I’ve seen many people argue he was in the right.
It is not just a problem with a corrupt system. It is a corruption of a large segment of society. Too many people are ok with this happening. The US especially is on a course to destruct. I don’t think there is anything that can stop it. It has been happening for a while, and seems to be speeding up. But most don’t see it. Those in the future will be better able to pinpoint when the tipping point came. I think we are already past it. Oh well.

Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Trump plans to sign an executive order requiring commercial truck drivers to speak English.English
3·8 months agoI keep seeing comments from people pretending that the way it is meant to be is the way it is. Trump has said the law is what he says. There is no effective defense against him declaring laws if there is no enforcement. He has defied judges orders and will continue to do so. The EOs are laws because they are being followed and nobody is stopping them.
Saying he can’t do that comes across like a right wing talking point. Trying to convince people that he can’t do what he is clearly doing, so those who are opposed will just sit around thinking the natural order will take care of it.
And it’s working. Sure there have been some protests. But no where the amount needed to make a change. Trump is now a dictator, and far too many Americans are ok with it, directly and passively.

Speak for yourself.
