You might consider checking out Flex Launcher. I’m using it as a lightweight launcher for my gaming PC. Controller support works well, just needs to be enabled in the config file.

1·7 months agoYou can customize the look quite a bit. You can use whatever images/icons you like. For example I’ve just been using boxart for games. You can also define submenus kind of like folders. The configuration is manually editing a file so you won’t be able to use a GUI. It’s not too dificult to modify though.

4·7 months agoThis isn’t an operating system, but I’ve been playing with Flex Launcher recently and it’s been working really well for my needs. From their Github page:
Flex Launcher is a customizable application launcher and front end designed with a TV-friendly 10 foot user interface, intending to mimic the look and feel of a streaming box or game console. Flex Launcher allows you to launch applications on your HTPC or couch gaming PC entirely by use of a TV remote or a gamepad. No keyboard or mouse required!
i use it as a lightweight launcher for my gaming PC as well as my HTPC. It does include gamepad support (needs to be enabled in the config file) and works really well with a USB remote.

4·2 years agoI’ve been running Arch on my servers for over a decade now and never had issues. I think people have a perception that it’s not stable or it randomly breaks but that’s not been the case for me.

1·2 years agoHere’s their documentation. The tip suggests it may have been harder in the past but it doesn’t seem too bad now. Hopefully this is configurable in Xen Orchestra in the future.

2·2 years agoConsider checking out XCP-ng. I’ve been testing it for a few days and I’m really enjoying it. Seems less complicated and more flexible than Proxmox but admittedly I’m still learning and haven’t even tried multiple servers yet. I would suggest watching some YouTube videos first. Good luck!

1·2 years agoYou can use HACS in Docker. I definitely had that working in Docker before I moved to Home Assistant OS on a dedicated machine. You’re right about add-ons though, maybe you had the two confused?
Hmm… It loaded just fine on my Nvidia Shield.

1·2 years agoI tried setting up coturn with docker but I can’t remember offhand what I had issues with. I am running a reverse proxy (Traefik) with wildcard certs. I should dig into it again. Do you happen to have any pointers or any good guides I could try following?

1·2 years agoWe use Matrix (Synapse) and it works extremely well. I just wish I could get a STUN/TURN server working…
I’ve been experimenting with Vikunja for this very purpose. It seems I can setup recurring tasks that when completed will automatically change their due date and uncheck themselves. It will send me emails when things are due and it appears to be able to send me overdue items as well. It doesn’t currently support webhooks for notifications (I’m wanting to use Home Assistant notifications for this) but apparently it’s on the road map. Give it a try, maybe it will work for you.

I’ve been running Arch with Incus on a few hosts and I love it! The initial setup was incredibly easy. I have connected the hosts together to easily move containers/VMs between them if needed. It’s really simplified my setup. Incus does have a web server but I actually don’t use it because the command line tools are very powerful and flexible. Definitely recommend Incus over proxmox.
