I do the same but unfortunately this usually doesn’t cover stuff like gelatin, or straight up meat, insect glazes, etc. so I’ve been caught out a few times from this.

Sorry to hear that! I have like one vegan friend and they live far away so I only see them like once a year if I’m lucky. Vegan meet ups are sparse and it’s sometimes hard to meet someone who has the same values and interests.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do so many hand dryers not dry hands? Am I doing something wrong?English
11·3 months agoSomeone else linked this in their comment but the air in those dryers has to come from somewhere… if it’s coming from the bathroom, where there are no lids on the toilets and aerosolized poop particles are sucked into the dryer and right onto your hands, I would lean towards that being unsanitary. This is also why it’s important to put the lid down before you flush at home, to avoid all those particles floating around onto anything exposed in your bathroom, like maybe your toothbrush or towels.

11·3 months agoI had a pre-order of the next gen framework 16, but have since cancelled… Came back to see if there had been any updates since the first day for forum discussion, disappointing that they are doubling down.
Seems promising! And kind of random that only the 12 mini is listed for that year, but I suppose it depends on what people have to test/tinker with

vegan@lemmy.world•Poll - To vegans (only): Do you believe that humans matter more than other animals?English
4·5 months agoI think everything is relative to oneself. Certain humans to me matter more than other humans, so certain animals/non-humans matter more than others. My bunny matters more than a lot of humans to me… and a decent amount of animals matter more to me than most humans. So I guess it depends on how close they are to you and what you value.
Tbf I think a being’s “value” and whether they matter differently than others to you are separate things.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Which method, website, or app do you use for your household monthly budgeting?English
3·6 months agoI switched from everydollar to actual budget using the envelope method - once you set it up properly and adjust your mindset (money made this month funds next months budget) it has been enlightening. It feels a lot more “real” than the way everydollar works.
The bank sync has been hit or miss for me so I just import csv files from my banks online portal.

2·7 months agoThis has me looking now… I have a tiny 11" blue dell inspiron with an M3 that I’ve been tinkering on as a dev laptop, refreshed it with Debian+XFCE but I can’t replace parts on it like I should.
Not sure about comfort… but I always find myself picking rocket league up on my steam deck for a few matches. Probably because it’s a bit mindless and lets my brain take a break by only reacting in the moment.

Usability is yet to be determined because I need to recruit a sibling or two to test it out more, but I do have calls working on the element x app. Definitely not for the light hearted based on all the config options and possibility of federation.
