Did ALARM have reproducible builds? They go into that in the article.

It doesn’t appear to rely on ALARM, does it? I haven’t dug through the sources thoroughly yet, but I haven’t see anything there that indicates they’re using ALARM stuff.

Linux definitely has HDR. I’ve been using Bazzite with Steam Big Picture mode as my TV interface for years and can use HDR just fine.
I definitely recommend piracy, but there are also ways to get streaming services to send full quality streams. I won’t recommend them though, because you shouldn’t have to do it in the first place for a service you’re paying for. Just pirate and use a media server or something like Kodi for a nice interface for local files.

First, using Rust does not in any way mean that you’re forced to use pushover licenses. I license all my Rust code as GPL.
Second, I hate pushover licenses, but I don’t see GPL projects using pushover licensed code as a problem. You’re essentially relicensing the pushover licensed crap as copyleft, which is a good thing. Any improvements that they make to MIT licensed stuff will only be available to other copyleft project, thus making the base MIT stuff less appealing.

To respond to your edit: rape was accurate, even with the pretense of a strip search. Do not tell us what she meant. You are trivializing what happened to her.

When she refused, guards pulled off her clothes, groped her and forced her to kneel. One of them inserted her fingers into Liedtke’s vagina and then her anus, Liedtke said.
Can’t wait to actually be able to publish my crates once they implement usernames that aren’t dependent on GitHub identities.
This should definitely be required follow-up reading, as it puts many of the Bun article’s “too good to be true” claims into context.
The fact that the Bun author didn’t know that Zig also has LTO really puts the rest of their claims into question.
The performance PS5 on Linux is actually very good thanks to the better hardware and more stable graphics drivers. It’s basically as performant as a comparably specced PC.
However, the fact that rebooting the system means you have to rerun the jailbreak to boot back into Linux does make it impractical for anything other than a cool gaming toy. But if you already have a PS5 vulnerable to the required exploits, it’s fun to do and it’s nice to have access to your Steam library.
Yeah, but unfortunately, they still don’t build it for ARM Linux, so Asahi users are stuck with the unofficial flatpak (which works well), or building from source.
The easiest way to get Signal on ARM Linux is going to be the unofficial Flatpak.

They can sleep when they’re dead :)

That’s great to hear that an f-droid version is coming! Would you be open to implementing UnifiedPush for those builds?
For an app like this, not having notifications wouldn’t be the end of the world for me, but the more apps that support alternatives to Google Firebase, the better.

Actually, /bin/sh is available on NixOS 🤓
Yes, it’s true that is a more reliable way to get bash, but you mentioned that you wanted a POSIX shell, not that you specifically needed bash, so will work on any system including NixOS.
Also, export a=b does work in Fish. But you don’t have to use it if you don’t know how it works.

Basically every non-Windows system comes with a POSIX-compliant shell at /bin/sh. If you’re using shebangs in your POSIX shell scripts like you should, using Fish as your Friendly Interactive Shell shouldn’t be a problem.

They also disable the “accessible” captchas on a whim when they feel like it, so this is also a lie.

I’ve player over 12 hours of the Shroom and Gloom demo and I can’t get enough. It has a beautiful, distinctive art style and really fun deck builder game mechanics. Please check it out of you haven’t already!

❤️ “humane” slaughter ❤️
It basically adds garbage collection to C, right? Seems like an unfortunate drawback. At that point, just use Go.
