To comply with a Trump executive order, Microsoft recently helped suspend the email account of an International Criminal Court prosecutor in the Netherlands who was investigating Israel for war crimes.
It’s not “shutting down” people should be concerned about, it’s espionage.
It’s quite crazy when you think about it. Many of us use Gmail or Outlook for personal and professional communication, but imagine if the U.S. government, under Trump, decided to shut down the email accounts of Macron or any other European leader simply because they disagreed with something. I believe this could significantly speed up the shift away from big tech companies in Europe and potentially around the globe.
If they are using that, then they deserve it. So does my “we ♥️ Microsoft” government.

I guess pressure from corporations and their governments is the culprit. Also local politicians mostly don’t know a shit about IT.
Its not hard to switch to a different e-mail provider
Assume any corporation using cloud infrastructure that might not be that easy per say.
