Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) is offering support for President Trump’s decision to bomb Iran, standing out from a number of other Democrats who have criticized the military action. “As I’ve long maintained, this was the correct move by @POTUS,” Fetterman wrote in a post on X.

I feel this way sometimes, then remember what the alternative was and don’t feel as bad. (To save the lookup for those that don’t know, Mehmet Oz was the republican candidate in 2022).

I’m in the same boat with you. I voted for him in the primary and I voted for him in the senate election. I gave money to that asshole.

But I don’t regret it because I voted for what I thought was the best option at the time. I voted for a progressive candidate against a centrist Democrat. I voted for a progressive candidate over a whackjob celebrity conservative. And I’ll keep doing that in every local, state, and national election, and candidates will know that’s the path to winning my vote.

I didn’t vote for the guy or the party, I voted for the platform, and next election I’ll be voting for someone else. This piece of shit won’t survive a primary challenge, and for that I’m optimistic.

Why? He wasn’t like this before his stroke. His stroke literally changed something in his brain. The guy you elected is no longer there.

They wouldn’t dare. That would be impolite. We need to reach across the aisle, and that means capitulating to everything the Republicans want. They’ll tire themselves out at some point.

Only by other members of congress who are fine with who he is. In terms of federally elected politicians, it’s in fact impossible for the constituents to recall them. Some states allow you to recall state level politicians but it remains illegal to recall a federal one.

Baby, if mental issues had any bearing on whether someone could be considered unfit to govern our entire government would need to step down. The inmates run the asylum.

It’s hard to say whether it was the stroke, the exposure to DC, or a combination of both… But considering other progressive senators seem capable of (mostly) holding true to their campaign promises/personality, it’s more likely due to the stroke.

          Edit: missing “progressive” modifier

He himself said something to the effect of he could literally feel the progressive part of him leave his body after his stroke, so it seems a lot like brain damage removes your empathy or makes you a greedy war mongering asshole.

I think the list of times he’s voted with the Democrats would be shorter/more notable.

That’s his way of doing things. He did the same with USMCA (an agreement he himself signed in 2018) when he broke the agreement and put tariffs on Canada and Mexico.

He is completely untrustworthy. He will break any agreement and demand a better deal whenever he thinks he has the upper hand. No one should trust him to hold any deal or treaty.
