Animals have incredible specializations specifically for sexual selection, with no impact or even detrimental effects for their survival. Humans aren’t even the only animals to have recreational sex. All of evolution is optimizing for the best probability to survive and have sex. Sex is what life is.

If aliens reproduce sexually, why wouldn’t they be sexually driven? That’s literally the main thing evolution optimizes for. Everything else is just secondary, and only is prioritized if it increases the likelihood of surviving to reproduce.

If we compare humanity to other species on earth, the year-round horniness without any specific mating seasons is fairly uncommon. There’s not really a good reason to assume that a sentient alien species works the same way.
