Pic for attention :)
Reddit FOSSCAD refugees will “fondly” recall the daily (and sometimes it seemed like hourly) “My Glock doesn’t work” posts. As new builders gradually find their way here, I figured it would be nice to have a resource we can just link in a reply. To that end, I’ve created a “Fix My Glock” page on the wiki: https://wiki.guncadindex.com/index.php/Fix_My_Glock
This is mostly just a long “brain-dump” of how to print a frame, how to methodically assemble and test, and some of the most common problems and fixes. I’ll work to clean this up, add pics, etc. I may even do a video of the build/test process. There’s room for improvement, so if you have great ideas, go for it (that’s the beauty of a Wiki).
This really would have helped me when I was getting started. Particularly the bit about light primer strikes. Nice work
Awesome write-up. Hopefully this helps everyone that needs it. One thing you didn’t seem to go over is greasing/oiling though. How important is it to grease/oil your glock to ensure reliability?
That’s a good suggestion. I’ll put “maintenance tips” on the todo list.
The short version is that Glocks are designed to run practically dry. One drop of oil on the inside top of the slide in front of the ejection port, one drop on each slide rail channel, and you’re good to go.
Based.
Excellent work!
