“The Military Religious Freedom Foundation says it has been inundated with over 200 calls from members of the U.S. military regarding religious comments made by U.S. commanders about the war in Iran. One combat unit commander reportedly said that the war is “part of God’s divine plan” and that “President Trump has been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth.””

Doubtful. If Jesus has returned to earth, Trump has already sent Him to CECOT…

Uh, why he show up in the USA? He’s far more likely to appear in the middle east and be shot to death than appear in the US of A. You are not that important, there isn’t one single important religious site in the name of Christians in all of the Americas.

Not to mention, the bible basically says jesus would throw down powerful people like trump and netanyahu when he comes again.

Not that I believe that fairytale anymore, but it used to be my sole hope for the world…

They don’t even believe in Supply Side Jesus at this point. They believe in White Supremacist Jesus.

How long before they retcon the story that his name was actually Jesse and he had a mullet and was born in Kentucky? Maybe they could take the Mormon belief that Jesus skipped over to North America after he was resurrected and build on that. Trump Bible second edition?

      You need to understand this.

They will tell you that the Bible shows that imperfect men can be chosen to do God’s work.

King David had a man sent to to front lines so David could have his wife. Lot slept with his daughters, and Noah was a drunk.

All the Epstein evidence doesn’t matter, because Donnie is anointed.

Oh, I 100% know their bullshit narratives and little games they play. By their measure, there is literally no way to know who is “anointed” by the character of Jesus, since they have zero standards obviously.

By this measure, I can claim the people they most hate are anointed by the character of Jesus from “the” bible, and they have no real counter for it. I can find the most antifa and queer vegan Communist BLM member (or Bill Clinton, or Hillary Clinton, or Obama, or Kamala, or Biden…since they tend to claim these people are all those things, LOL.) and claim I have evidence they are “anointed by Jesus”.

One passage in the Bible says ‘beat your plowshares into swords’ and another says the opposite.

🤣 Not to mention that there are two creation myths in there, nearly right off the bat.

            https://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/contra/accounts.html

Skeptic’s Annotated Bible is really fun.

If someone tells you they believe in the literal “word of [their] god” (and by that, they are being very presumptuous and assume everyone should just assume that they mean Jehovah/Yahweh/Allah when they say “God” and using KJV or NIV as the text), it might get interesting to ask them which version of the creation myth in there do they think is the real one?

I’m thinking right now of those people you always see on the internet talking about the military finally having enough of Trump and subsequently removing him forcibly from office. Do you think a few of those people are coming to a pretty jarring realization right now as to what kind of person typically serves in the military? And that THIS is what they’ve pinned their hopes on for ending this madness?

people are gonna point to this 150 years from now and say “the second millennium sect of Christians could have been a death cult.” it will be hard to argue against.

A combat-unit commander told non-commissioned officers at a briefing Monday that the Iran war is part of God’s plan and that Pres. Donald Trump was “anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth,” according to a complaint by a non-commissioned officer. From Saturday morning through Monday night, more than 110 similar complaints about commanders in every branch of the military had been logged by the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF). The complaints came from more than 40 different units spread across at least 30 military installations, the MRFF told me Monday night.

Gog and Magog all over again I guess. How many times is it now? At least twice, you think Christians would realize they’ve seen this one before.

Hegseth has been working overtime to normalize it, recruitment videos pairing the Lord’s Prayer with fighter jets. christian nationalism has always been part of the military but it’s a prereq now.

Mikey Weinstein from MRFF puts it bluntly: “Hegseth makes it clear, ‘Here’s the template that we want.’ That fully encourages one of those Christian nationalists, commanders and members of the chain of command—whether they believe it or not. They know it’s a way to get ahead, to try to rationalize [the mission]”

So when a commander stands in front of troops and says Trump is “anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran,” they’re not operating in a vacuum. They’ve watched their Secretary of War do exactly that for months without consequence.

That said, well over 200 complaints across 50+ installations show it’s not isolated to a few weirdos. Hegseth’s project has given them permission to say the quiet part out loud.

    https://mst.military.com/daily-news/2026/03/03/military-officers-accused-of-framing-iran-war-biblical-mandate.html

The complainants themselves are mostly Christians. They’re not objecting to faith in the military. They’re objecting to commanders using their rank to push specific apocalyptic theology.

Some of these commanders are genuine believers, Some are opportunists but at this point it’s a distinction without a difference, because the result is the same either way: troops being told it’s prophecy.

Considering most of the complaints are from formal briefings, it’s at least rampant in the command structure. Best case? We’re looking at years of investigations, reassignments, and quietly shuffling people out.

The only silver lining is Keg Breath is so uncharismatic that most of the top brass hate him specifically.

If any top brass who probably stuck it out for a lot of time, tedium, and bureaucratic BS and probably even worked pretty hard (to finagle some near-impossible tasks without getting caught bending/breaking policy) to become top-top brass actually felt anything but deep resentment and probably hate for this sleazy failed ANG major (a middling paygrade, for those unfamiliar), I would be shocked. Can’t imagine there’s any general or admiral ever enjoying taking orders from a major.

Can we just skip to the part where we put trumps rotting corpse onto the golden throne and have the military worship that ?

At least then I won’t have to listen to him speak anymore.
